brianm 01-31-2011, 03:36 AM i just phoned my paintshop about painting my black brake calipers red , alister told me they cant be paited as they are powder coated , and that they would need powder coated red as the paint wouldnt take? is this right as i am sure ive seen guys on here painting theres CentralTexHemi 01-31-2011, 08:55 AM First they are not powdercoated from the factory and if they were, proper prep work they still could be painted over...I'd go elsewhere better yet do them yourself. af_maineiac 01-31-2011, 08:57 AM Brian - the calipers CAN be painted. Quite a few forum members (myself, Wade, SCAM come to mind) have painted them without issue. You can also have them powder coated if you like. . CentralTexHemi 01-31-2011, 05:39 PM ^^^^Yes sir I just went back and looked at the date of my post and mine still look like the day I finished, Brian if you take your time and do like Dan, Steffan and I did they come out looking great I think I paid maybe $60.00 for all the stuff needed. Just be sure to give the final coat a full day to dry before applying the Brembo decal, then do the clear coat. MichaelSRT8 01-31-2011, 05:59 PM I've painted them as well. Using the G2 paint kit is probably one of the cheaper ways to get them done. But I like how Wade's came out a little better. Wade's method requires a tad more finesse, while mine was just labor intensive. Watch me do it here... Spent maybe a couple of hours, grabbed some dinner at a restaurant while we left it to dry.
