Obviously I love these jeeps probably my most favorite car of all time even beating my 2000 corvette convertible with 700+ hp and 30k of mods (sold in 04). That says a lot about the jeeps. I purchased an '06 new but when the new interior and radio came out in '08 I purchased another new one. It is now time to trade in I have 32k miles and was planning on the 2012 but now seeing this new Cadillac CTS-V coupe with roughly 550 SC hp and the insane looks of both the interior and exterior I may change my mind. I rarely have anyone ride with me so back seats have never been important to me. I have an '06 BMW 7 series Li with plenty of rear room for passengers. i am curious what do you guys think? I know the Cadillac is a bit pricey near $70k what are the fully loaded Jeeps going to run? $55? I would love your input!

Well we have a V coups, just got it 2 weeks ago.. first thing I was goof to ask was about the back seat--it is basically a 2 seater
I know this isn't a problem, but we are gettin 10mpg @ 80% city filling up twice a week.

The car turns heads, as there really isn't any out there(especially where we live) and is a MONSTER on the highway, as well as the streets. My jeep takes it until about 75-80 area.

We can't really give you input on the 2012 yet, but should be able to in April.

If you have any more questions about the V, id be glad to help you. We got the diamond white with recaro 2 tone seating.. the 2 tone is the BEST way to go imo, as it makes the car. Stitching matches the saffron suede. It is just beautiful.

Get the CTS-V.

Hands down that new V is probably the best all around luxury performer for the money. I was trying to pick up a used one last year and ended up with the E60 M5. I would trade it in a heart beat for my buddies V sedan....I'm not crazy about the coupe and I can't wait to see the Vagon in person. Another buddy has an E63 AMG and out of the three the V is just a beast. If you are a SRT8 you'll love the raw power of that V.

I'm not a Chevy guy, but the V and the ZR-1 are mighty nice. The CTS-V wagon will have just as much utility as the Jeep!

+1 on the wagon... The are pretty cool, and reminds me of the magnum srt-8, except sportier.

I'm also trying to decide which way to go next...

They indicated in the WSJ, Detroit show article a few weeks back that the new Jeep would be out this fall starting at $45k.... base price for the CST-V wagon or coupe is $63k... sorry, that is a big factor.

Fuel will probably be at least $4 per gallon for quite a while following this summer and I think the Jeep will get better gas milage with the cylinder deactivation capability. I average 16+ now with my SRT8... the 2012 should do better.

I have a feeling that neither one of these vehicles will be offered for more than a couple of years at best... they are a nich advertising vehicle...they won't sell many.

Resale on the Jeep should hold up better if our present vehicles are any indication.

Finally, I plan to wait until this time next year to see how prices if prices are discounted by then and early model problems are addressed. For now, my 06 still gets all the attention I need. Good luck.

CTS-V for sure.

If you go V, you'll need an exhaust upgrade though... Quiet and too small :p

What gas mileage are you getting the vehicle you are towing the Jeep with?

To the OP: Just get them both.

Call me crazy but I just dont like the v coupe. I love the sedan but at the price I can the mod the jeep like a mofo and still be just as happy. I really can't see a bad decision here and think youll be happy both ways.

I have a 2009 CTS-V. Wonderful in every way EXCEPT! Just about anything can take me out of the hole. In the summer at half throttle the tires spin; more than half throttle, and the car begins to fishtail. That is with traction control fully on. In the winter it is much worse - any pedal pressure beyond the minimum results in tire spin. These cars really need to have AWD. Way too much torque for just RWD.

CTS-V needs to have awd....blasphemy!!!!

I would wait 6 months for the new Jeep SRT8 or take a look at the MB CLS, I believe you will able to buy a 4matic. I saw the CLS at the auto show and it looks mean.

Does handling matter to you or the ability to have a manual trans? I like my '04 V more than my supercharged SRT8 for mainly those reasons alone.

I have an 09 v with exhaust and intake(listed in the for sale section) and a stock 09 srt8 I just picked up. I know your leaning towards the coupe and if it matters to you the roof doesn't open, it only tilts up, it fully opens on the sedan. Like some of the others have said out the hole it isn't that great. I have some 20x10's on the rear and that helps alot over the factory wheels, but nothing grips like an AWD. The only reason I'm thinking about selling the v is to get a GTR. Don't get me wrong the V is super fast once your rolling and is a beast. With some mod's it sounds amazing. I'd go V just to get it out of your system than get the new jeep.

I'm looking forward to the new Z-28 being released. Should have the same engine in it.

tough call-- two great vehicles. I have the 09 V with a tune-- on my G-tech I can get 3.8-3.9 0-60 and I ran 12.1 @119 STOCK with a 2.0 60 ft time. So if you launch it right- it is pretty good out of the hole- but its power is UNREAL from any roll, including a 120 roll. (don't ask me how I know ;) )

My awd 335Xi- which runs consistent 1.7 60 ft times on all season tires- at the track, can only hold the V off for bout 1/8- 1/4 mile-- and not by much. Then the V blows by it- and that BMW is an 11 second car.

But the V is really about the handling-- AMAZING! the magnetic suspension gives you a great, smooth ride while cruising, but when you stomp on it- it eats up the twisties like no sedan I have ever driven.

Great feedback guys! Did not really put too much thought into stop light traction I am sure the CTS-V is terrible off the line. How strong is the rear diff and axles? Would it handle E/T streets? I completely forgot about the Nissan GTR that is an option for me as well I really love that car and it's AWD. This will be a tough call for me! I now may be leaning toward the GTR!!!! Easy to boost that thing and get 100+ hp that would be plenty to destroy anything stop light to stop light! Getting excited just thinking about it!!!!

Buy a black/black manual V coupe with Recaros, no sunroof, and suede wheel/shifter. Then in a couple years sell it to me for a good price. ;)

Finding one with the options I want used is going to be hard I think...

If you need some utility buy the Vagon!

The V will not disappoint, that car has a lot of positive press and hype for a reason.

Had a 2010 CTS-V 4 door, incredible vehicle. Sold it due to the need of all wheel in the nasty New York winter weather. Only complaint about it would be that the stock exhaust is way too quiet. But that car itself is absolutely insane, the smoothness of the shifts at WOT is unmatched to anything I have ever driven.
