: Clear Front Turn Signal?....
recentrisk 06-27-2006, 03:59 PM Does any one know of any good options to replace the yellow front turn signal? Since it is incorporated with the headlight, I assume we would have to get a whole new headlight unit. Since the headlights are not the best, it may not be a bad idea. I am sure they are out there since those are factory Cherokee headlamps, right?
Any ideas?

You can get part way there and make it look clean from a head on view with this, but to get rid of orange on side view.....don't know.

recentrisk 06-27-2006, 05:22 PM There is actually a yellow reflector built into the side... I am more worried about that then the bulb. And when I get that clear I dont mind having a white turn signal bulb... i dont care for those silvervision bulbs.
laddcruzer 06-27-2006, 05:30 PM I have switched out my highs, lows and front turn signals with Silverstars. Everything looks clean and clear until you use the turn signals and then the yellow/orange is apparent on the turn signals only. There are other bulbs that you can use that are as good or better (as far as brightness and intensity) besides the Silverstars. Just research the kind of "light" you want to end up with. The install is easy. Just pop the plastic panel on top of the lighting area.
Good Luck.

What about the yellow reflector on the side of the headlight?... did you remove that? If so what did u replace it with?
thanks!
Nothing out there yet, as far as replacement goes, and I'm not up for disassembling the housing on these yet. My guess is that by SEMA someone will have a replacement housing that'll be all clear. I'd switch to it. Even though it's law to have a visible amber reflector from the side view, I've never been stopped for it in the past.

recentrisk 06-28-2006, 07:36 AM wow, is that just black paint?... doesnt that hide the turn signal completely?
Street WK 06-28-2006, 09:03 AM Its vinyl and yeah it covers the whole yellow light. Illegal, yes. Down here it won't be a problem tho since I still have the inner turn signal.
Not sure if he used paint or vinyl, but I don't think that anything lights up over there at all. I think that is strictly the reflector.
recentrisk 07-06-2006, 10:03 AM No one knows of any for the regular cherokee?... Those would work fine for us...
zen garage 07-06-2006, 07:37 PM I did the following on a Subaru STI a few years ago. My wife thought I was frikkin nuts, but the end result was worth it I dont have my gc srt yet, but am willing to bet this will work
1. remove headlight/bulb/ballasts and anything else that is not the housing itself.
2. place in oven at 225-250 for twenty minutes
3.carefully remove and pry the back cover off the front(most lights are two pieces)
4.remove the oange reflector
5.put back together quickly while the glue is still warm and pliable.
6 reinstall light/bulb/ballasts and what not.
7 crack a beer, you just baked your headlights!
Take a look at your lights. If they are two pieces, this method will work.
