After waxing my Jeep yesterday, I was checking out the paintjob. RedRock Crystal Pearl.

I noticed that in the large areas (doors, hood). It looks like the paint is too thick or it looks like it is ready to start running.:( Anyone else have this. )

I got jealous after seeing those recent pictures of Mango's black srt8.

I appeciate all your thoughts and prayers about my paint job.

Maybe some pics would help..... Once paint is dry I don't think it can start running but what do I know :D
Seriously though, take a pic and post it to show us what you mean.
I have black like mango and it looks awsome....except when it's dirty  or rainy...or dusty...or ....you catch my drift.

I mean when they originally painted it. It looks dimpled or slightly rippled. Then they clearcoated.

Ah Hah!

I didn't know that was the term. Then it sounds like, I'm not the only one with it. What causes it?

I think what causes it, is the factory where it's painted doing a shi**y job. If I'm not mistaking there is a way to improve that with a wetsand or a good polishing job...there are some good deatail guys on here and I'm sure they'll chime in w a fix for ya.
Sorry I can't be more help.

yes a good wetsand and polish job woul do wonders for these trucks... find a reputable shop in your area and let them go to town... [N/S vendor comment edited by admin]

If it makes you feel better, my truck is black and the orange peel is brutal. Its caused by the paint not laying on smoothly. DCX does not have good paint. They also put a very small amount of clear on to cut costs, so it can only be wet sanded and polished once, but it will look better. If they used a little more product, they could get the clear to flow better and it wouldn't be so rough.

Only real way to get smooth is watersand and buff.
