: lowered jeep srt8 with eibach springs
KINGMONKEY 06-16-2007, 06:52 PM Ride is stiffer,As stated by others who have done it ,No regrets,Let me know if you guys see the difference,It is lower by 1.5 hoping it settles to 2.0,Handling is much better,No more loose steering when I give it the gun on a rolling start

OurZoo 06-16-2007, 07:37 PM Looks great!

Where did you get the rotors and calipers?????????????
PS Ditch the Run Flats ...she'll ride like a Caddy!!!!
Derwood98 06-16-2007, 08:09 PM That's a kleen Jeep. I like it. I really don't dig the badges on the side, but that's just my opinion. The rest looks great!!
Krush 06-16-2007, 08:17 PM Nice setup king.

Looks like R1 rotors, and Charger calipers. I got the same setup, but R1 is a pain to deal with.
Edit: Althought the rotation of the rotors looks reversed? The slots are supposed to go with the rotation not against it, right?
gculver 06-16-2007, 08:25 PM Looks Good!, It really does not look that much lower...probably the angle of the picture. I do like those red charger calipers on black....looks sweeeeeeet.
GC
EDIT: slots(rotation) look right to me.. the left front does anyway, thats about all I can see & tell for sure!!
I just don't see it. Ride height looks stock to me. Are these the existing Eibach's that have been on the market for a while now? Those are for standard GC's. They will lower a "regular" GC 1.5-2 inches so they are the same as the factory springs as the srt's are about 1.5 inches lower than standard GC's.
The red calipers look sweet on the black though.

My brother in law is the brake expert he put the rotors on.He said the rotors needed alot of work before he put them on,He said they work both ways.I cut 1 ring off the front and left the rears alone on the Eibach's,We followed JERTHEHAIR instructions. The shop that placed the springs measured before and after ,They said it was 1.5 lower than when started.General what should replace the run flats?Advise, Jeff yes they are the same springs,Regards Jeff K

I had the same deal, my guy had resurface the rotors before they went on. That's why I said R1 is pain, but the rotors are cheaper than most so it's a toss up. Looks nice man, did you have the lower from fascia painted? I thought they painted them now on everything but black.
KINGMONKEY 06-16-2007, 11:28 PM If you guys want red calipers.Dont jack off like I did,I bought a donor set for mine, While the others got painted ,I showed up at the body shop with my original calipers in hand,The shop said they could have removed my original calipers and painted them and put them back on in 2 days.Big monkey around
KINGMONKEY 06-16-2007, 11:31 PM Krush
It came painted,Lets see some pictures,Did you lower it?I can see better thru your car than mine

I just bought a charger set and sold my originals on craigs list. Ended up costing me around $200 in difference, which was well worth it because they look awsome. But you already know that don't you. :D
KINGMONKEY 06-16-2007, 11:37 PM Its funny when my wife saw my jeep she asked me did you change the wheels on your jeep they look alot smaller,She had me rolling

I posted some pictures of the calipers/rotors awhile back on another thread, I try to dig them up tommorrow. Mines not lowered, I really haven't done half of what I'd like to do because I can't find a solid custom shop I trust here in Chicago.
BILLSHOE 06-17-2007, 11:56 AM It Does Look Stock Probably The Picture Was Taken To Close..Maybe If Truck Was Alittle Further Back You Would Be Able To Notice It Lowered.the Brakes Look Really Good
Street WK 06-17-2007, 12:03 PM Unless you cut the Eibach's (bad to do anyways) it won't make a difference. If anything it will raise the SRT8. A few guys over at SJ have Eibach's and it lowered it about 1.2" tops. These are made for the NON SRT8 Jeeps, so there really is no point.
Looks good though!

I want to check them out if you go to Qualcomm. I would ditch those tires for either the Michelins or the Toyos.
PS....The SRT8 badge on the fender looks sweet......some of us have no....well I'll just leave it alone.

MegaSRT-8 06-18-2007, 05:12 PM Looks nice. I just may get the calipers in red as well - it really stands out. Can't tell aout the lowering, though. As for the SRT-8 badge on the side, I ordered them too but didn't like and took them off. To each their own.

Fullerton......
T-Time 06-18-2007, 09:04 PM I'm normally not into the side badges. But WOW! that red 8 and the calipers. That's a sweet look!!

Black_SRT8 06-18-2007, 09:26 PM Ride height looks stock.
Can you take a profile shot from a distance?
KINGMONKEY 06-18-2007, 10:22 PM Its alittle lower. The shops stated 1.5 F&R.They chopped a ring off the fronts.Like WK STREET stated.I could have had them chop more and monkeyed around with the rears,But who knows what I would have ended up with. This SUV must be lower it is meant to be so.The ride is firmer wheels are more stable on the ground. No rolling feels tuned. No regrets.I wish someone would come out with something rather than me hot dogging.I will post more pictures
B-52GUNNER 06-21-2007, 03:40 PM The red calipers are the ones off a charger SRT8?

Yes, Charger calipers are a direct fit.
medihummer 06-21-2007, 04:26 PM Hey guys,
those 275 in front and 315 in rear do they fit on the standard SRT Rims or did you buy other rims? If I'm right the original size is 255 and 285.
best regards

Stock rims.
KINGMONKEY 06-21-2007, 05:55 PM Stock rims and tires
Inferno SRT8 06-21-2007, 05:57 PM Im goint to see what tha charger calipers cost, I get a discount from my dealer that my tech gives me so I get them for his price, if the price is right im going to upgrade to the red calipers, ive wanted this for a long time.
Anyone know what the red calipers cost with no discount?
Go~RillaWRX 06-21-2007, 06:07 PM I am sure the drop is more noticable in person. Someone just needs to make a kit for us that drops 1.5 without chopping springs as this changes spring rates and can be iffy.
All in all, I love the whip.
HoustonSRT-8 06-21-2007, 06:57 PM I'd love to see pics of this lowering job next to a stock ride-height SRT-8. It's hard to see the difference in those photos.

medihummer 06-29-2007, 02:35 PM He Kingmonkey,
let me know how it goes and how it drives. The problem is the shocks I'm afraid. If you don't shorten your shocks, the drive will not be too well as shocks are designed for a predefined height. If you lower the car you also have to re-align the wheels. I wonder if they can manage all those things.
For the callipers. Why don't you go to a car painter and let them paint your callipers red with heat resistent paint? Will be much cheaper.

It drives excellent,No regrets. As for the shocks ,They are fine, As the bottom out was the same as before.Yes I had to re-aligh the entire car.The jeep made me crazy with the stock suspension I dont think they spent alot of time on it.I have done a bit of research money and time,Which will save others money. As do others on the site,I also drive the finest fastest luxury cars. The list would make you dizzy and did not buy the SRT to drive the wife and kids around. As for the calipers,I wish I did just drop them off with the whole jeep

medihummer 07-01-2007, 02:03 PM is your grand cherokee srt lowered allready? I thought it still had to be done.
If so, can you give us the specifications of springs and shocks. I drive a BMW M3 and the jeep has much more torque but understears also more and hangs in the turns. I hope with the right suspension adjustements I can get it more M3 like.
