: Thinking of trading in modded caliber srt4 for cherokee srt8
1QUICKCHEROKEE 01-09-2011, 06:24 PM Hi guys im new to the site and have a couple questions. I have an 08 caliber srt4 fully modded. I found a silver 07 cherokee srt8 that just hit 70,000 miles and i believe that it is completely stock. Its loaded with everything but navi and they are asking $23,988. I test drove it and it seems like it runs fine and strong, my concern is with the miles. Do you guys think that this is a good deal to do or do you guys think that the miles are to high? Its not going to be a daily driver, just a weekend warrior and hit the track a few times. Let me know what you guys think.
My second question is i will have about $3000 to mod with. What do you guys suggest? My plan was arrington carbon fiber or bwoody intake, borla or corsa exhaust, diablo tune, and eibach springs to lower it. Around how much power will that give me? Is this a good start? I would like to hit 12's to start with. Thank you guys for your time and suggestions.
SRTLUVR 01-09-2011, 06:28 PM All of what you said above sounds achievable. Our rigs with those mods will hit 12's all day long, so no worries there. :)
That does sound a bit "used" on that particular Jeep though. Do you know where it's coming from? Who owned it? Was it well maintained? Have they serviced the diffs & trans regularly? I'd hate to see you walk away from a NICE SRT4, and into a "decent" SRT8, and then have some things to fix the minute you leave the dealer? Make sense? I'd do a bit more investigating before you make that decision....
Beyond that, we looooove having visitors from our Mopar family!!! GOT ANY PICS OF THAT CALIBER???! I for one would like to see it!!! :D

According to the guy at the dealership he said the previous owner was a corrections officer and used it to go back and forth to work and its mostly highway miles. I have no info on service records. As far as pics of the caliber i don't know how to post pics.
m4xm1l10n 01-09-2011, 07:30 PM With Just a diablo+CMR and Intake = $600 + you can run and average 12.9's down to 12.5's . I ran 12.77@106 with intake and tune only ( Stock exhaust ) Than i added a borla S , 4" Bwoody , Eibachs and toyo tires i ran a best of 12.55@109 . You don't really have to go crazy in mods to go fairly fast . with that 3k u got if i was to do it again I'd go Headers/CAM / 4" BWoody . leave the exhaust for last and a guaranteed low 12's IMO
A.V.GCSRT8 01-09-2011, 09:17 PM Why doesn't it have nav? Didn't they all come with it?

nah not every jeep has it, youd think every jeep came fully loaded but not all do. i seen one for sale that had rear dvd, but no nav, and another one with just a sunroof, but i have yet to see one with no options at all.

SRT8MAN07 01-13-2011, 07:54 PM my srt8 didnt even come with heated seats or dual climate control.... dealer had aftermarket heated seats installed but its not the same... also one seat had stock heat pads in it and pocket on back and the other seat doesnt.
CentralTexHemi 01-13-2011, 08:13 PM My 2007 Jeep just hit 70,000 miles and I wouldnt take less than $28,000 for it, of course its been taken care of very well and has subtle mods done to it. I would ask about the last times all the fluids were replaced and proof of it, especially the transfer case fluid. Check inner wear on the front tires for tread seperation and ask if the transmission O-Ring has been replaced with the newer one (all 06/07 leaked originally). Look under the jeep for any signs of leaks around the pinion seal or rear u-joints and by all means the rear brake squeel.
Fastest H-Town Realtor 01-19-2011, 07:39 AM 96K miles. -0- problems.
1198Corse 01-19-2011, 09:00 AM 12's on a jeep is fast.
mcopare 01-19-2011, 10:45 AM I traded my CSRT4 in on the Jeep.....no regrets.
SteveC5WS6 01-19-2011, 02:30 PM sounds like you should do the trade I definitely would in a heart beat! From what i have read in the last 2 days. the truck plus $1000 will put you in the 12's all day. Def. get rid of run flats if it has them, I have ran them in my vette and absolutely HATE them!
