: Remote start question...
I love being here in the north and using the remote start feature to get the temp in the Jeep up and the windows defrosted but HOW COME THE FREAKING DRIVERS SEAT HEATER TURN ON TOO?!?!?!? Is there anything- starscan etc- to use to activate it when using remote start- other than running outside and activating it manually? Thanks all!

AaronZ34 01-05-2011, 07:19 PM On a related note, the button at the top of the page that says search on it, you enter a few keywords, and it searches the forum for the keywords you entered. The forum has this feature because it is understood that there are some questions that are asked, and answered, time and time again. Not that this is one of those...Ok ya it is.

So aside from your asstastic sarcasm, you were in no way helpful. I did search, and went thru approx 12 pages of threads with no answer. Thus why I posted my question, BECAUSE I COULDNT FIND THE ANSWER. I have been a member on here for several years, I know how this place works.... how about being constructive and helping a member out, not being an ass.

I hear ya. I believe my 2000 limited Jeep had paddle type switch for the heated seats as did many other chrysler models I have owned. When I got my current Jeep i was hoping for this type of switch because if you leave it in the on position it would be active.

Let me quote myself since you apparently forgot how to read at the same time.
No can do.
I was the first to reply, and answered your question correctly, how much more help do you want? A joke and strip tease?
On another related note, all 3 threads I found on the very first page of results when I searched. Hint hint, results of the search are directly related to the search input. In other words, searching for "Jeep" or "SRT8" is likely to return the threads you were looking for, although not very effectively, and they will be amongst a lot of unrelated threads.

I stand corrected- I must not of used the proper search terms. I searched "Heated Seats" not "seat heaters". But that still is no excuse to reply again with your asshat response regarding the search. You could of linked your original post (that you asked in a thread before mine) with your first post and saved yourself a whole bunch of time. But, again, you wanted to attempt to degrade a person with your internet savvy.
I am looking for a way to possibly find a fix for this, a wired in switch that would work with the remote start or something along those lines.
What member Rose City has done for us is any indication of members taking it under their own to find a solution to a problem, I hope to do so regarding my heated seats. If it works then I will be 100% happy to do a write up and share with everyone; included yourself.

blackshadow 01-08-2011, 12:18 PM I think the dealer can program the heated seats to come on. As long the remote start was factory installed. When I use my remote start, my rear defroster comes on when the temp is below 32 degrees and when above 32 it does not turn on.

Dealer cannot, that's why I said "no can do." It could be done, but not easily like enabling it in Starscan/WiTech.

Starscan can do more than you can think. The problem, very few techs know how to use it to its full potential. I do know that mercedes have it programed it in there cars. Thats why I say it can be done. Remember we do have some mercede parts and technology in our rigs including ecm, and modules.
AaronZ34 01-08-2011, 06:44 PM Well let us know when you get it working, using just Starscan/WiTech (No wiring changes). I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm saying it can't be done with Starscan/WiTech, as far as I know.
