: Best year for srt8, i think its 2009
ITS A JEEP THING 01-04-2011, 02:34 PM I was looking at the options listed on wkjeeps.com, and I think 2009 is the best year for the jeep srt8. Looks like thats the year were you can get the most options.
What do you guys think?
2009
will have the new front end
will have the black interior
larger rear flip down monitor
and most available options.
promo718 01-04-2011, 02:42 PM '06 hands down:
- most aggressive look with the two-tone front and rear fascias
- pass emissions w/ headers using murf's o2 bungs
Yes, '09 is nice because it has the most options.
'06 hands down, most aggressive look with the two-tone front and rear fascias
+1. :D
Keirik 01-04-2011, 03:17 PM i thought 09/10 were pretty much exactly the same?
KingOfTheRoad09 01-04-2011, 03:27 PM i thought 09/10 were pretty much exactly the same?
the 09's have the rear dvd option that was taken out for 2010
m4xm1l10n 01-04-2011, 03:29 PM Really ?? I didn't know that . To me go fast is what counts he he
Keirik 01-04-2011, 03:35 PM the 09's have the rear dvd option that was taken out for 2010
i always thought the DVD doesn't look right in the SRT8. It doesn't fit in with the rest of the style IMO
2quic4u 01-04-2011, 03:38 PM 09 is definitely the most fully loaded year, but only because of the rear dvd that the 10 doesnt have, and both the 09 and 10 have upgrades that the 08 didnt have, like the performance screen, leather on the cluster, door panels, etc.
in my opinion i would never buy a later model year 08 and up, because i dont like the brilliant black pearl coat, and i would never buy another jeep unless it was black, to me they just dont shine like black clear coat does when its clean, and even with the 08s, i dont like the bumper design in the front, it doesnt have those aggressive lines that the 06/07 have under the lights. in my opinion 07 is the best year.
m4xm1l10n 01-04-2011, 03:40 PM Well basically everyone here defends the year they have . I like my JEEP with the mods i have and wouldn't traded it for another one period hehe
KingOfTheRoad09 01-04-2011, 03:45 PM i always thought the DVD doesn't look right in the SRT8. It doesn't fit in with the rest of the style IMO
haha true but its not bad tho, it does give kids or the ladies some backseat entertainment lol:D
kokanee13 01-04-2011, 03:46 PM 08 is the best because it's the fastest, and the lightest!
JohnsonSRT8 01-04-2011, 03:52 PM 09 is definitely the most fully loaded year, but only because of the rear dvd that the 10 doesnt have, and both the 09 and 10 have upgrades that the 08 didnt have, like the performance screen, leather on the cluster, door panels, etc.

Best year if you want to have problems with your Jeep. 07's hav had the most recalls and most problems by far out of all the years
Keirik 01-04-2011, 03:58 PM maybe it's just pure superstition and all, but i always figure that there has to be even the smallest tinkering from 09 to 2010 to make getting a 2010 a little more.
jim383 01-04-2011, 03:59 PM Heres the shipping wt of the jeeps in yrs.
06/07 = 4697
08 = 4666
09/10 = 4638
I have an 08' and love it... but if you are buying one...the 09's have my vote with the basket of little options/extras that the 06-08's do not have. just my opinion.
a990dna 01-04-2011, 04:01 PM Well... since I've owned both, I will say objectively 2010 is the best year.
its ....
lighter
quicker
more nimble
more like a hot rod.
Since when did a hot rod come with a DVD video hanging from the roof?... that reaks of a soccer-mom or mini-van mobile.
Sorry to have busted your bubbles, but facts are facts...
.
For those with kids and a family.... the rear dvd is a welcomed option.
'more like a hot rod' ...haha... thats funny right there.
a990dna 01-04-2011, 04:20 PM oh yea..
reported gas mileage improved.
I have data, no speculation here.
ITS A JEEP THING 01-04-2011, 04:39 PM WOW, I did not know the 09/10 are lighter as well. another plus for the 09.
jps043 01-04-2011, 04:43 PM To be 100% honest and impartial.....my 09 is the fastest model. Not just the 09 year, but mine specifically. haha jk, but thats basically what this thread that has been repeated a thousand times always turns into
a990dna 01-04-2011, 04:43 PM WOW, I did not know the 09/10 are lighter as well. another plus for the 09.
As long as you don't have that video thing hanging from the roof... :D
.
WS6TA 01-04-2011, 04:46 PM The 2012 is the best year, but since none of us have our hands on it yet, my opinion may be disputed.
How many days before I can have one?
2quic4u 01-04-2011, 04:47 PM Best year if you want to have problems with your Jeep. 07's hav had the most recalls and most problems by far out of all the years
true, but i work on em every day, so if anything goes wrong:
1. i have direct access to a starscan.
2. i can warranty things that arent covered, no-one double questions, im the tech.
3. some things come free, like fluid and other misc parts.
but besides that, yes i do agree that the 07s have some issues, but i know a guy with a 2010 that has issues with his window module, i would have thought by 2010 the reverse up/down issue would have been fixed, maybe its just his jeep.
m4xm1l10n 01-04-2011, 04:50 PM Best year if you want to have problems with your Jeep. 07's hav had the most recalls and most problems by far out of all the years
Must be yours , there's 5 of us with 07's here and no issues at all . What kind of problems ?
YoungMedic23 01-04-2011, 08:51 PM I just wish my 08 had the performance cluster the 09 has
Whoever thinks the 06-07 interiors are the best is on some heavy drugs
A.V.GCSRT8 01-04-2011, 09:15 PM I think 08+ mainly because I hate the 06-07 headlights being so straight up and down, the angle to me looks better. I do wish my 08 had the performance cluster but I have a trinity so that doesn't matter to me anymore. The gray interior I think is ugly as well, black leather all the way
JohnsonSRT8 01-04-2011, 10:09 PM true, but i work on em every day, so if anything goes wrong:

Well that's deff nice but even tho its not fun to be fixing on something all the time nor is it fun to hav the jeep outa commision. Oh yea there is problems with every yr, don't even get me started on the reverse auto auto up issue, had that TSB done 4 times and it still does it!
Must be yours , there's 5 of us with 07's here and no issues at all . What kind of problems ?
No not only mine. That's 5 out of a couple thousand, hardly a comparison;) Ofcourse there are goin to be be 07s with zero problems. Mostly Electrical probs and some driveline issues....
eskle 01-05-2011, 05:20 AM Must be yours , there's 5 of us with 07's here and no issues at all . What kind of problems ?
My 07 has no issues as well so far, so make it 6.
sbardy69 01-05-2011, 07:05 AM Black clearcoat on 06-07 ftw... I've never had a problem with my 07 either... Interior might not be as pretty but you can't compare the black clear to any other color... Sparkle is for pink Barbie corvettes(jk, sort of).. And I'm sure the 06-07 black hold most records for being the fastest...
pantheman75 01-05-2011, 07:36 AM The 2012 is the best year, but since none of us have our hands on it yet, my opinion may be disputed.

+1
Just over 3 months until we get some official information, just over 5 months until the order banks open, and just over 7-8 months until some of us have our new 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8's sitting in our driveways!
TonySRT8 01-05-2011, 07:50 AM Well, when I bought my jeep there were no 09 or 10's yet. I liked the 07 black better than the newer black paint.
If I do trade for an 2012 model I would have to really consider the silver since its so much easier to keep clean during the winter months.
1BAMFR 01-05-2011, 08:50 AM 2007...Dumb question!
SrtJake 01-05-2011, 08:52 AM 06 Hands down..
jdoc7 01-05-2011, 09:28 AM No one mentioned 06-07 not having HIDS. Sorry, in this day and age, HIDS are a must for me. If i bought another JEEP right now, it would be an 09'
Jay007 01-05-2011, 02:58 PM I like the 09 & 10’s. I personally didn’t like the two tone look of the 06’s (unpainted) and I liked the black interior of the newest ones the best as well.
I ended up buying a 2010 because I liked the price better. It was like $1200 cheaper than the 09’ due to the lack of DVD mainly which I didn’t want anyways. The used ones I had looked at with the DVD player rattled and made noise when cruising (from the console) and that drives me nuts. I don’t have kids and in the 13 months I have had my unit I think I can count the number of people on one hand who have rode in the back.
veyronSRT8@TTCreations 01-05-2011, 03:40 PM I just wish my 08 had the performance cluster the 09 has
Whoever thinks the 06-07 interiors are the best is on some heavy drugs
honestly i can't complain with how the grey interior looks with the flat black...i think it look pretty good. ;) to each his own i suppose. lol
QuickOne 01-07-2011, 08:04 AM My 2010 has plenty of rear seat entertainment for the ladies. :D
Just saying.
I agree...And in 3D!!! :p:p:p
black_srt_8 01-10-2011, 07:37 AM '09 the best cause they add the performance cluster
