Hey guys if i could get your opinion please... I want The borla exhaust system but need to know if you guys think it is too loud. The reason i ask is cause i often carry clients around (Real Estate) of course i wont be nailing it with them in it (unless they ask me too!:) ) Let me know what you think as i have not heard them on any srt8's yet.....

Thanks

Got mine installed yesterday. It is definetly a recognizable difference and some could consider it to be loud in the cabin...but like others have been saying..its only really loud when your giving it gas.

I have the Mopar/Corsa catback and I and many others here are very happy with it. Low key and "client friendly" until you get on it. Someone here is trading out of his brand new Borla (loud option) since it is too loud. I'm in real estate too and as you know in this business professionalism does not = loud and obnoixous, especially on the high-end of the spectrum. Not a knock on Borla, but I think Mopar/Corsa is a straight-forward no-brainer choice. I have heard people knock zoomers, B&B and other set-ups after they have had to live with them- I have heard very little negative on the Mopar unit. Some have complained that Mopar/Corsa is too quiet - alot of people think it is the perfect balance between civility and brawn.

Good luck

Definitely louder than stock under all conditions from idle to redline with a nice Bark on the top end. No doubt a notch or two above stock.

Anyone else - chime in on the Corsa

the "T" type (Touring) Borla has the same performance but is much quieter

I have had Corsa catbacks on a few past cars, and now have Borla on my GC. Corsa exhaust will absolutely be louder than your stock and will be noticeable too. I feel Corsa manufactures exhaust to be "tuned" more, which is why they are very "drone free." However, my new Borla I would say is tuned to be meaty and I like it just the way it is.

Adam,

I think it is a real tough question.

How old are your customers?

If you have the windows up. The air on. They won't notice as much.

Here's the dilema, It is loud, but it sounds good, and it's not obnoxious.

I say Life's too f-in short. And if your client doesn't want to buy a house from you cause you're exhaust is a little loud, F*ck Em!

I'd drive my GrandMa around in mine. But hey, she likes the sound of a Powerhouse Hemi.:D

You know your not going to be happy without it!

I just installed the Corsa system today. It took all of 90 minutes to do by myself in the garage, the most exotic tool required was a torque wrench. I didn't even have to jack up the truck. The only challenge was to cut the unsed exhaust hanger off, which took about 10 min with a hacksaw.

The product quality is superb, instructions are excellent, fit was no problem at all. Cruising is quiet as stock, but when you open it up, it sounds much better than stock. It definitely seems a tad quicker, nothing earth stattering, but the top end charge from 75 - 100 is notably stronger.

Nothing against Borla, but I would suggest that the Corsa system would be perfect for a real estate agent.

If I had clients in the ride, then I would honestly go with the touring version. Mostly it's just me in the ride alone or the wife and little girl sometimes so I got what "I" wanted.

I had the Corsa on my CTS-V and it had an annoying popping and burbling through the exhaust when the engine was winding down that screamed "after market exhaust." Do you have the same issue on the SRT8?

Recalibrating the PCM took care of the popping, and after that, the Corsa's sound was the perfect compromise between stock and too loud. It was great on the Caddie. I'm considering a Corsa for the SRT8 but I would like to hear one first on the big hemi.

If you are concerned its gonna be too loud with clients, then it WILL be too loud for clients. Why? Because you will have created a self-fulfilling prophecy.

If you want quiet and 'professional' do not consider the Borla S-Type. It is definitely NOT borderline, and only a 'borderline' system would be worthy of a discussion on this topic of yours . . .

Mopar/Corsa is louder than stock as ML said. It's a great, well built system. http://www.corsaperf.com/grand_cherokee.htm

Are there any sound clips of the Borla yet?

The other thing i really like about the borla is the 5" tip opposed to the 4" tip stock. Does or can the corsa come with a 5" tip...i think that would look amazing. What about the touring eddition? Louder then corsa or about the same? and what size tip?

Neither the touring Borla nor the Corsa come with 5" tips.

Had my Borla S Type installed yesterday. It is much louder than stock and turned heads where ever I went. It is exactly the deep raucous tone I was hoping for. I thought my wife would hate it but she loved it too. As I revved on my driveway last night my neighbor with a 03 Vette Z06 rushed his car out of the garage so we could compare. His meager stock offering was overwhelmed by the wall of Borla soundwaves I sent his way. I told him he should put that fart can back in the garage until he installed a grown up exhaust.:D

Ya know what? Wait for generalconfusion to get done testing his full exhaust (headers, cats, and cat-back from Stainless Works). That system has the potential to be the most complete, functional exhaust yet.

I am waiting on his results, and that will determine if I go Stainless Works or Corsa.

There are too many people on here that say the Borla is LOUD. I think it is something like 10+ dB over the stock exhaust.

Try Tbyrne, which is a supporting vendor. They want about $1,350

I bought mine from Moparsupercenter for $1,200. Talk to Jeff there at 800-456-5337 before you buy anywhere else.
