As I sit back in amazement while reading & seeing all of the wonderful things many of us here do to modify our rigs, I try to put things in perspective.

Yes, I too want a fast, beautiful vehicle and also one that is uniquely me. I also think about the smaller group of us that spend HUGE amounts af money on what most have to agree as a depreciating asset (vehicles in general).

Guys like Inferno and Fast and others come to mind and I think to myself . . . how long are these bros gonna own these Jeeps? See, I try to justify in my mind doing a mod by how long am I going to enjoy it? 3 years? 5 years? 10 years? Longer?

Do I go out and spend $9k on mods, ASM kit, etc. if I plan on getting a 2009? Do I get a 2009?

So . . . the question to all is . . .

How long do each of us plan on owning the Jeep SRT8 we have RIGHT NOW?

I'm in mine until they come out with the 500hp version. Then....it goes right back to the dealer! WOOT! lol

I was going to take the plunge on an '08 but as soon as I heard about the '09 - I just had to wait. I can tell you though once I get it, I am planning on keeping it around 5+ years

Well I would say my mods were all money well spent considering I got tons of enjoyment out of building and driving my jeep and the bond my dad and I made is invaluable. However, I have always wanted an SRT8 and that dream may become a reality very soon.

My lease ends on May 1, 2009.

Have had mine for just about a year now, and plan to keep it longer than any other vehicle I have owned. Previous long was my 97 Jeep Wrangler. Kept it for 5 1/2 years. Plan on keeping this 6-7, possibly longer.

Right now I can't justify to my wife spending mad cash on major mods, but if I keep it long enough....ASM here I come. Hopefully by then, the price will have dropped ;)

I'm usually a 3 year car guy. I'll go with the 09 when it comes out.

Picked up my Silver 07 on June 2nd. Already have Headers, B&B, Volant, HID's on lows and fogs, and got my B&G pcm today. I plan on being in it about 4 -5years.

I plan on going for the 09 as well if it gets the hp bump.

I will be keeping my 2006 as it is the first model year the JGC SRT8 came out, who know what the future brings but Im keeping mine.

Ill get the 500 HP when they come out and put it right next to the ORIGINAL 8!
