What do people think the generally agreed upon must have mods are and why? I'm curious to see if reach some kind of quasi-consensus here. :)

That's a loaded question and everyone's gonna give their opinion, but mine, for what it's worth, at as far as cosmetics goes, is tinted tail lights. Check out this thread (http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3624) for details...

Mine is exhaust and clearbra. Just got the B&B from envied with the round mufflers (loud option i guess it is) Man it sounds good.

I had B&B on my CTS-V prior and had great luck with it also. The jeep however doesn't have the dreaded drone my Caddy had. Love the tone too.

There's 2 basic forms of modding:

1) Modding for visual/cosmetic

2) Modding for Performance

All said, I'm torn between exhaust & cold-air intake . . . .

I did the Mopar CAI and am disappointed. Have come really close to an exhaust (Magnaflow and Mopar/Corsa).

I believe both have to done for perfromance gains---just can't justify a 6 hundred purchase right now. Double that for Mopar!

From what I've read, go Volant or modify your exhisting with a K&N Drop in with a modified snorkel to your existing intake. I may be doing that as it is regularly 90 degrees in Hotlanta these days!

Next up is the thermostat to run cooler---

one of the best mods is to get rid of "Jeep" on front and back---doesn't cost a thing.

Trailer Hitch was the most practical, but I know you aren't asking about so much.

Like my DUB CAI for the wow factor when you open the hood and sound at WOT. Not so happy to hear it may be costing me hp...Also, love my Weathertech floor liners as they blend right in and keep the carpets safe and are easy to clean. Billet door lock pins are cheap and look great. And I really like my Billet SRT8 shift knob. Looks factory in there.

Exhaust is a tough one for me because of my favorite mod - trailer hitch, but would be high on the list.

Those are some of the basic mods.

OIL CATCH CAN.

So your intake will be oil free, and the computer won't pull timing on you like it did to me. :( haha
