Hi I am looking to possibly sell my GTO and get a SRT8 Jeep.

Before I start my search for one, I to know some of the major differences between the 06, 07, and 08's that would factor into me spending a little more to get an 07 or 08. Basically just the difference options and little interior or exterior differences that only you SRT8 owners would know about and not someone like me who has no experience with them.

I know the complete ins and outs of all the differences between the 04,05,and 06 GTOs so I figured this was the place to find out these things with the SRT8

Or if there is a thread on here with the same question asked, a simple link to the thread would be appreciated. thanks guys!

Just about 99% of the members here would trade their 06-07 for an 08+ just for the black interior....08+ also come with hid headlamps and a couple other cool features

Dunno, but it is why I opted for the 08 over the 07. :) Gotta love some black interior.

touch screen nav, dark grey/almost black leather, front bumpers refreshed, projection HIDs, etc. some will say is enough to shop for 08 and up.

I like it more because of the hid headlamps, mygig nav, and black interior.

I do like the 09+ because of all the perf 0-60, 1/4 mile, and those features.

Oh yea the MyGig is the other major reason!

Without a doubt get the 08+. I no longer have my 08 SRT8 but the auto-level HID's, mygig, refreshed front bumper/headlights and best of all the updated black interior looks 100 times better than the older gray interior. Yes the 08 will obviously be more expensive than the 06 and 07 but trust me it is well worth it. if you dont take our recommendations you will be kicking yourself later.

I gotta agree with Mr. Boychicks on this .... 08's are very nice(love mine)...but I'd like to have the couple of extra features on the 09-10's.

thanks guys and thanks for that link. Looks like the 06s really lack features. No rear cam? thats unfortunate.

The HIDs and mygig with the better sound system would be the two reasons I personally would opt for the 08 if I could swing the extra $3000 or so they generally cost.

My thought is that if the "upgraded sound system" is indeed legit than I wouldn't have to tear apart the interior to install aftermarket speakers. I still would want to install my 15" sub no matter how good the stock system was.

Not all of the 08's have the HID headlights you have to have the SRT Option Group II which also includes the rear heated seats and rear DVD system.

I also wanted 08+ because of the interior and having the same MyGig that was in my 09 Wrangler with the touch screen.

I have a 2007. I personally like the gray interior a lot! The leather they used in the 06-07 holds up better then the 08 and up. After a week in a 08 or newer the leather is all wrinkled up. My 07 with 33,000 miles look better then my friends 2010 Challenger with a 1000 miles.
Other then that the MYGIG is definitly nicer. You could alaways install an aftermarket
head unit. I am not sure that the speakers were upgrade though on the 08 and newer.
The other features listed in the 08's and up are nice but I wouldn't sell my 07 just to get an 08 and up for them.
I'd say look for the cleanest one you can find that hasn't been molested and at a fair price. You won't go wrong either way.
