Is the cluster just verry inacutate? if the truck gets 7mpg normal im ok with that by no means do i think im going to get good fuel mileage out of it just want to make sure nothing is wrong with the truck ive been reading that other people get around 11 ,12 mpg under normal driveig since i reset it last week ive been babying the throtle to see if theres a diffrence I use the truck as my daily driver and 75% of my commute is highway.

Our unmodified 2010 gets about 13-14 for daily driving according to the EVIC. Probably 50/50 city/highway.

Check it the old way - #miles/#gal

I drive 75/25 highway/city and got about 12.5 average on my 2008. I just installed a CAI and now I'm getting 14mpg average

12-14 average according to the EVIC since day one.

+1 on checking the "old way"

bad gas or knock will cause you to get worse gas mileage. like everyone else i get 11-13 constantly. i've never gotten below 11. even when driving hard.

interesting...so getting between 9.8 and low 11s (with the occasional 12) is bad then...thats what i get. and ive never put anything below super premium from MOBIL.

other than a visit to the dealer to check up on it, any remedies or changes anyone done to improve upon MPGs?

i know no one bought the truck as a gas saver but theres a point thats acceptable and theres a point that isnt.

hell... i've been getting 8.5 in town and lucky to get 15 on the highway.....

if i leave the mpg thing alone, with a 50/50 mix of hwy/city it levels out around 12.x

if you're really getting 7mpg maybe something is wrong.. unless your foot is constantly deep in the brake or the gas pedal

how you drive in the city does matter. if its start stop start stop. then i could see getting 7 or 8. but if your on the highway as well you should average at the least 10-11. i say drive till your on E, then drive another 15 miles after the light comes on, fill up with best possible gas, reset the gauge and then see what you get. use the #miles/#gallon method as well. try to stay off the pedal as much as you can during that time. if you still only get 7-8 i would say something is wrong. get a Trinity to log everything so at least you can get an idea of what the problem is.

I get 12-13 around town depending how I drive I've seen 9. After the trinity, intake and sprintbooster 8 get the same around town but average 18.5 on the highway. I actually saw 20.2 going to disneyland on Friday I was shocked.

LOL the original poster is ok with 7mpg!!! nice! I would normally get 12-13mpg in my 2008 SRT8 and even that was enough for me to sell that pig.

When I drive the backroads and I'm playing I get down to 8/9. Usually about 12/13 everyday driving though. This summer I drove from Houston to Jacksonville and was getting 17 for like 100 or so miles.

I've only used one full tank since I bought mine and it got 12.8 and the EVIC recorded 13.1 with a city/hwy mix and some warm up idling time. The EVIC usually shows a little better than it is.

If you let it idle in the morning to get to operating temp or if you hit a lot of trafic lights it will affect your MPG a lot!

Careful driving will help improve your milage. There are techniques referred to as hypermilling, some get really into it. See my average milage on my srt8 below, get up to 17.5mpg

I had a dream last night I was getting 1.5 mpg. I filled up 4 times on the way to my cabin. Pretty much was a nightmare I guess you could say. I average 15 though.

I get between 9.9 and 12.1 mpg in my '07 with only city driving. I rarely leave Los Angeles county in the beast. Mind you, in California, our gas is wildy different than the rest of the natural world. We get some $hitty formulations that murder gal mileage. I lived in Atlanta back in 98, and I bought a GTI out there. My mileage was great til I moved back to Cali.. Cali gas is more expensive and less efficient, just like our gov't...

when i drove just city and drove hard, i saw 8.5 mpg rofl. on the highway cruise set at 80mph, i saw 15mpg. if i had set it to 70mph, i bet i woulda saw 17+mpg. its how you drive and what you drive, city/hwy.

If you are driving like that you should see 12-13. The only thing I could suggest would be to try a different brand of fuel if you haven't tried that yet.
