: Removing resonators
SilveRT8 06-11-2007, 08:33 AM I just replaced the resonators with 4'' pipes ending with 5'' Chrome tips from Mopar Ram Diesel. I have a hitch taking the center spot (removed for the moment) so the pipes are relocated to each side. The sound is great, deep and burbly but the F?% Drone came back but tolerable this time and only around 1600-1900 rpm.
Performance wise it surely helped some but when I retested 0-60, I got the same 3.82 as before. The look of those 5'' rolled lips Chrome tips is just awsome and if I decide to change to the Borla Touring + headers to gain HP, I'll reuse those for sure, the visual impact fits the truck's to a T and is much better when seen live than on a pic.
Here are some pics:

No, but very practical to get a Hitch in the center where it belongs

OurZoo 06-11-2007, 11:31 AM With the hitch in there, it looks a little better. One thing I always loved about our rigs was the dual center exhaust....

I understand that.
cobrakid 06-11-2007, 02:24 PM ..... I guess you do what you have to when you need a hitch.
Doesn't look too terrible.
Maybe you could get a hitch cover like my wife has on her Aviator.
It is grey plastic and fills the hole flush, looks nice and smooth. not a plug,
although a cool hitch plug would look better than nothing in there.
double_d99 04-28-2010, 10:48 PM That's freakin awesome, I would space out the tips more to the edges of the bumper tho

Dude, the thread is 3 years old. So I am sure he will not take your advice.
double_d99 04-29-2010, 10:31 AM I know but if I get a trailer that's how I am going to do it but move the tips over to the edges.

Well good luck with that. There is no need to post that info though.

There is nothing wrong with it, just old. The guy that did it doesn't post on here much anymore. So you are talking to yourself and me.
