Those are just a few.....I originally ordered the Moda 215's but there are supply problems and now i'm thinking of getting something else. Should I saty with the Modas...or try something else?
JeepSRT 06-10-2007, 12:19 PM I think the Moda 215's look the best, understated and not too flashy. JMO.
westsidestrangla 06-10-2007, 01:37 PM what he said^^
is your truck an srt? looks like one minus the rims....
scottina06 06-10-2007, 01:52 PM no...its not an SRT......but I do have evrything but the 6.1 hemi. Thats an old pic too. I just added the srt roof rack and srt seats.
yeah....I like the Modas best....but tirerack has the wheels/tires in stock...but no sensors now until 6/23. They are starting to pee me off. Ist it was the wheels.....then the tires....now the TPMS sensors. See if I buy all that stuff from them....they are mounted/balancd for free on the hunter road force balancer and they include everything needed for install. I just install them when they arrive.
Dr.Steve 06-10-2007, 02:10 PM absolutely the moda's, no question, sharp looking wheel.
Steve
HoustonSRT-8 06-10-2007, 03:03 PM Go with the Modas and get the stripe on the spokes painted the same color as the body.

I guess I don't get it:confused: Do you want people to think you are driving an SRT8? Why do you need SRT8 seats? After all the bodywork purchasing, painting, labor and the seats and what not, what's the savings from actually trading your Laredo in for a real SRT8?
Not trying to sound or come across like an a-hole . . .
phil
scottina06 06-10-2007, 05:05 PM $20K is the savings.....and I'm putting that $20k in my house right now as we speak with new slate floors in kitchen and 3 baths. They just dug the footer on our new 18x22 den with fireplace. Spend $20k for about $70K in resale value....thats a lot better investment than spending $42-46k on a truck(retract statement) Cars/trucks lose value you see.......I bought the truck for cheap and now I'm adding what i want......in used parts that are like new.
Ronin 06-10-2007, 05:15 PM ....thats a lot better investment than spending $42-46 on a truck that in 5 years wont be worth $15k. Cars/trucks lose value you see...
Nice...
The SRT is a limited production vehicle, unlike a Laredo wanna-be SRT, which would likely drop its value like a stone over the same said 5 years...
Never had a problem with wanna-be SRTs, as long as they kept away from the badges, but loose the attitude and save your car/truck value lesson for mass produced cars (like your Laredo for example) that are made in the 10s of thousands, not limited production, high end, high performance flagship vehicles...
Price an '03 Mustang Cobra lately?
Matty
Mango 06-10-2007, 05:20 PM I love ya scottina, but seriously....I think our trucks will be worth more than $15k in 5 years. A little harsh, dontcha think?
I honestly couldn't imagine driving around in a "look alike" SRT8 without the power behind it. But hey, that's just me.
If I were going to add wheels, however, I would get these gorgeous wheels from Giovanna.
The Dalar

scottina06 06-10-2007, 05:32 PM please dont start this guys....I couldve had an SRT...but I didnt. I'm not trying to be harsh....maybe not $15k ok....just a number I threw out. The power really means nothing to me...I dont race either at the track or stoplight to stoplight.....my GC has a carseat for gods sake. Plus no one where i live has any idea what an SRT8 Jeep even is. They all think the bumpers and sides are aftermarket....even a few dealers. There are no srt badges except for the seats and that will be taken care of as soon I find a solution.
maxxjeep 06-10-2007, 05:35 PM those are pretty sweet lookin (dalars)
good luck on the wheelio purchase!
Mango 06-10-2007, 05:39 PM :) I'm not starting anything man, it just comes as a shot below the belt to all of us who own REAL SRT8's. So you threw a shot at me, I'm throwing one back. PLUS, I actually contributed to the thread!! :)
Yeah those Dalars are friggen gorgeous. They say on the site: Light SUV" so I don't know what they classify as a light one....
Anyhow...good luck and let us know what you go with.

How much did you spend on the whole set plus tires???
06BLACKJGCSRT8 06-11-2007, 05:27 AM Holy sh*t those look amazing!!!!!!!
06BLACKJGCSRT8 06-11-2007, 05:37 AM Anyways, to get back to the point, heres my grand idea: I would just get the factory OEM SRT8 rims. I like what you have done with the vehicle and I think the OEM rims will make it look even better. You could even go with the 20X9's (fronts) all around so you can rotate the tires which would be a plus because they are expensive. That way you can have runflats and get rid of your spare (if you have not already). It's also safe for traveling with the wife and baby. As far as badging, I would order the "SRT design" badge that is on the 300C and put it where the factory SRT8 badge would go on the lower right of the liftgate. It will be cool because what you have is basically what the SRT design 300c is, the sexy looks but not the more expensive price tag and horsepower (but at least you have the V8!). That would be what I would do because you have customly created a "SRT Design" jeep grand cherokee. I like it!
Mango 06-11-2007, 05:37 AM I love those wheels. Only wheels I'd use instead of the stockers, which are beautiful too IMHO.

That's actually not a bad idea.

Those Gio's do look amazing on your ride....but 20" is more practical for me. Oh...and i love those door moldings!
I like the SRT wheels as well....but they say SRT on the spoke. I looked for a wheel close to the srt wheel and actually found 2. One was a wheel by Toxic for the 05 and up Mustang. Toxic was going to custom drill me a set and but there wasnt enough metal on the back of the wheels for our application. There is also a wheel that is a replica of a 80's z28 wheels....but the offset is +10....and we need atleats +30. The SRT replicas arent ever going to be made...so I needed aftermarket. The replicas would have been perfect because they dont say "SRT". The srt design badge is a good idea....maybe I could addthe "design" to the seats.
Hey 06Blackjcsrt8....can you get 4 20x9's? Runflats would be good also since i have no spare due to the exhaust. You've been selling a bunch of sets lately.
gpfarrell 06-11-2007, 11:20 AM Anybody have 3 carseats?
I like your mods. As long as you are happy and you aren't misrepresenting what you have to take advantage of somebody else you're a stand-up guy in my book.
scottina06 06-11-2007, 01:13 PM you could do 3 carseats....but i've never seen it.
I def. am not representing....I live in a small town and like I said above....no one knows what an SRT is anyway. But the racing....hp thing is not me in my GC anyway. I have 2 3000GT's for that....and they have never been raced either. The 4.7 V8 I have is perfectly fine for me...as far as what i need. But believe me......I would take the real thing anyday.....but for me spending over $20k more at the time just didnt make sense. Believe me....everytime I see engine shots of the 6.1....I drool!
GodfatherSRT8 06-11-2007, 02:04 PM 2 boosters and a car seat here.
scottina06 06-11-2007, 02:34 PM cool....dads with carseats...we need a picture thread showing all them!

Ugghhh...
Like I said before about badging...
Dodge pulled the same wanna-be nonsense on Neons back a few years ago, which got more than a fair share of the SRT-4 guys pissed. Way more show than go. Someone who didn't know any better might think those SRT-4s ain't so fast (oh but they are!). The SRT-4 guys made up for it and made themselves feel better at the track and anywhere else where the "show" stops and the "go", well, "GOES"!
It smacks of ricer, and I guess is the polar opposite of a sleeper, which must be poser...
I have a SRT suspension on my Magnum R/T, which I suppose is part of the "SRT Design" package. I couldn't imagine putting those things on my ride.
Whatever man...

Them (in my worse possible East Coast accent) are nice...no 22s though. I really like the stockers and might chrome or powder-coat them but if I end up going aftermarket I have to go 22s, I can't see dropping the coin for the same wheel size...
Matty
HoustonSRT-8 06-12-2007, 08:04 AM I agree. 22s would be nice, but scotinna did say he wanted 20s.
scottina06 06-12-2007, 01:39 PM yeah I just felt that the 35 series tire wasnt right for my application. One of my 3000's has 19" wheels/tires with 35's and i have to be very careful. The roads around here are very good...but there are still potholes here and there.
Street WK 06-12-2007, 02:16 PM you can do 305/40/22. a few wk owners have done so.
KINGMONKEY 06-12-2007, 02:26 PM That Giovanna Dalar is stunning did you price check those in 22"?
scottina06 06-12-2007, 03:10 PM I think someone on another forum did and they were like $2900....but I cant rememnber if that was with tires.
Street WK 06-12-2007, 03:16 PM Moda 215's for sure.
scottina06 06-12-2007, 03:17 PM link to dalars....just did a quick google search...

haplain 06-28-2007, 08:03 PM Hey does anyone know if the Moda 215 specifically fit on the SRT8? I'm in the market for new rims and love them but am having a hell of a time finding 20's that fit. Does anyone know if they will work?
scottina06 06-28-2007, 11:36 PM the Moda 215's are 20x8's. Thats way to narrow and one of the reasons I didnt get them....
