As I patiently await the Monday arrival of my Borla S-Type, I started to wonder about the various other exhaust sounds I've loved since I first heard them.

I've read the Borla is a 'sound' 98 db for the S-Type and began to wonder how that compares to the always aggressive Mustang GT stock exhaust Ford puts on in terms of db. The Camaro SS and Trans Ams also have nice ballsy exhaust notes as well, but none sound better to me than the Mustang GT and Cobra as far as everyday cars on the road we all see.

Anyone have any idea what the decibal level is for the Mustang GT and Cobra is?

I'm just curious as to whether my Borla will sound as nasty as the ponycar.

I don't the know the specs...sorry. I do remember the exhaust note of my Mustang LX 5.0's with the H-Pipe (no cats), shorty headers and Flowmasters... man it was tough. Compliments all the time, I was a punk back then so the noise didn't bother me one bit...lol. Now I'm 32 w a 3yr old, still a punk but a fatherly punk....so don't want such a loud system.

I need to get a dB reading on my Mustang one day. Shorty equal-length headers + Bassani X w/no cats + Borla catback = loud, but not obnoxious.

I've always been a long time fan of how the 5.0, Cobras, Saleens, etc. sound. The Borla S on the GCSRT8 sounds equally as nice. I already had a couple of guys tell me they thought I was a Saleen pulling up to their business until they saw me.
