Had my GCSRT8 in front of hotel in care of hotel staff. Was in the room for about 20 minutes when I got a call from the front desk. "Sir you vehicle has been struck" .... oh crap.

Head downstairs expecting the worst. The bell man was holding the remains of my driver side mirror (there's an oily liquid in the glass). I remember thinking I hope that's not the only thing left.

Turns out a bike courier racing by clipped my driver side mirror (hotel story) and nearly tore it off. The mirror was shattered, the wiring disconnected and a chunk of plastic taken out of the mirror housing.

A replacement mirror in Toronto will cost you an even $500.00 from Chrysler. Mirror is ordered and the hotel forked over the $500.

Lesson learned - what the hell was I thinking handing the keys over to the hotel staff in the first place - wonder where they were headed when they wiped out the bike courier?

I'm glad that's the only damage...and that the hotel paid for the repairs.

I guess anything is possible up there in the frosty north.

If the bike courier had clipped your mirror, then he would have had the front of the bike jerked to the right and into your Jeep. Someone on the hotel staff is lying.

You will never know for sure, but at least they are fixing it.

I record the odomoter before handing the keys. If there is more than 1 more click, someone would be getting a fist full of knuckles. As it is I have only had it parked once or twice anywhere.

Makle sure none of the liquid got on your Jeep. Someone I know with a white RS4 got that liquid on his car when something on the highway broke his mirror and it ruined the paint.

Thanks Fluffhead. No problems with the paint. That crap from the glass was on the doormans white gloves though as he asked me if I wanted to keep the shattered remains. Still waiting for replacement mirror to ship up from the U.S.
