I don't know why they even bothered testing these vehicles, when it seems that they don't really like high performance sport-utes to begin with, but who cares I love my 4.1 sec 0-60 one trick pony.:D :p :D
06BLACKJGCSRT8 06-09-2007, 09:28 AM Everyone is entitled to their opinion.....but when I pull next to someone who thinks they are hot sh*t at a stoplight....they know it's a serious machine

Yep , I agree but they seemed to be especially harsh on my beloved Jeep.
championjeep 06-09-2007, 09:58 AM That has to be one of the worst articles I have even read
Mango 06-09-2007, 10:00 AM I loved Automobile Magazine when they granted my 2007 GTI w/ DSG tranny the Automobile Magazine Car of the Year!
Now...I hate them. Grrrrrrrrr

It seems that way when most of the magazines compare American cars against the all mighty Euro cars, and even more so when it is a Chrysler product.
Inferno SRT8 06-09-2007, 11:04 AM The Jeep provides obvious bang for the buck at a starting price of just over forty grand, but it's really more of an amusing toy than a serious machine.
That has to be ths stupidest thing ive ever read, clearly this cumstain is retarded, lets see any one of those competitors keep up with a vette like I did last year in the 1/4 mile. Looks like another writer needs the taste slapped out of his mouth.
OurZoo 06-09-2007, 11:17 AM Why don't you quit beating around the bush Tony and tell us how you really feel? Seriously though, well put lol.

Yes, & it's getting worse. The auto mags don't show much respect to Chrysler products. They are more concerned w/foriegn rice burners. They're just hippies, that can't handle the big American b@llz. IMO this writer has no taste, but still deserves the slap.
EX-SVTMAN 06-09-2007, 03:56 PM I also read the article...it's a "toy" but it spanked every single truck in 0-60 and was a tenth off the "serious" AMG in the 1/4 mile....? Does contradiction mean anything to the dork who wrote this?
At least Truck Trend gave us real props and chose us over all the rest as the number 1 sport suv.
RUDE8 06-09-2007, 04:07 PM I can honestly say that article wasn't that big of a deal. They ripped on each vehicle in one form or another and several were worse than what was said of our SRT8. In fact, I think our Jeep received the most props of any when the writer referred to its wanting to race from light to light, 0-60 runs, and that he wants to burn rubber the whole time.
read between the lines I say . . .
HoustonSRT-8 06-09-2007, 06:52 PM I like this quote.
Standing out in a crowd is no accident for the Grand Cherokee SRT8, which looks like an escapee from the SEMA show.
the braking and wandering complaints are fairly legitimate and i think the stock rubber is the culprit. we have by a large margin the largest brakes and the least weight and yet always the longest stopping distances (yet no fade)
