FastSRT8GC 06-08-2007, 09:42 PM Finally, I got my jeep back. I forgot how everything works from wipers to the radio.
Well for those of you on the fence, hop on off and order this kit. I think the jeep needs stiffer rear shocks. You punch it the nose jumps right up in the air. I have not had it on the dyno yet, nor beat the crap out of her. I am letting the Unichip and the B&G learn every thing first. She acts a bit fussy, but getting better with every start up. Here is the photos and the link for the video.
The video is on the bottom of the page. Also Keep an eye at the 20mph roll when the tires let loose and chirp 2nd:eek:

Inferno SRT8 06-08-2007, 09:45 PM I love you man.
I cant see it for some reason but I can hear the F/I!!!!!!!
How many Ibs of boost are you running?
3336jmh 06-08-2007, 09:50 PM Hurry to the track and let us know how she runs.
GotStroke? 06-08-2007, 09:51 PM Glad to hear everything's running as it should Chris!
FastSRT8GC 06-08-2007, 09:52 PM More details.
I am, I believe the first to get this kit besides the two installed at ASM. I will tell you ASM's support and service are TOP NOTCH! Kelly has helped me with everything.
Being the first alway has its downfalls. A few bolts were shipped wrong, Next day aired to me... RIGHT ON! The water pump for the water to air after cooler was bad, they will get a new one out on Monday. And I tore up the first belt:( .
The super charger was walking the belt off the water pump. I got it home shimmed it up and drove it around a bit. No problems so far. I will now carry the tools needed to change that belt or the stock belt in the jeep at all times. I will try to get a boost gauge this week to see what its pushing.
Dyno will be in the beginning of next week. If air fuel is good then a new pulley will be ordered to keep the boost around 6-8. Should be fun!!
awdrocks 06-08-2007, 09:56 PM Take your time, get a good tune before hitting the track or beating on it. Enjoy your weekend ;)
FastSRT8GC 06-08-2007, 09:57 PM For those of you on a Windows based CPU, UPGRADE YOUR QUICKTIME!!!
Track will be in a week or two.
Current boost should be @ 3-5 the heads and headers more than likely dropped it down from its norm 5-6
THe guys at the shop said its and easy mid to high 11's but its hot down here.... we will see.
In the winter mid 11's for sure.

Fast if you get 11's out of it which im sure you will in the summer, come to ATCO in the winter with us and you will see the first JGC SRT8 in the 10's, great looking kit and the F/I sound is almost better then a supermodel telling me lets go get a room, almost. :D

Well, So far there were a few adjustments. I believe the programming and unichip are spot on. The B&G is going through it learning process. Spitting and sputtering here and there, also shifting weird, but once it learns its patterns it will be perfect.

No shutting off. Did it once or twice in th beginning. It does sputter at 10-15% throttle, not sure if its the B&G learning or the Unichip. Either way under normal conditions I will not be @ 10-15%.
Tomorrow I will take it on a hour long road trip. We will see how she does!

I just put the B&G in and it runs good but best part is the better shifting....
going to the track on Wed the 13th at Orlando Dragstrip...I will have my NOS hooked up by then...so we will see.....
Let us know how the long trip goes..
FastSRT8GC 06-09-2007, 11:58 PM Well I ventured out to the races and everyone and their mother Loved the Jeep and the ASM kit. I was not going to race any one just yet, I just watched and talked. BUT.. On the way there I got into it with three cars. More then i ever had before the supercharger.
First was a Slowstang, new GT. We of course can beat them stock so you know the outcome. Pulled him like he was in reverse...
Second, New corvette, He must have seen me race the Stang. He pulls up to me at a light and starts revvin, HUM.... This should be good. His windows were up and he was acting all Billy Badazz. Well much to his dismay I pull him by 4-5 cars I think he sh1t his pants. Well he gets next to me again and says this time lets do this for real....OK lets go. I informed him unless he had a Z06 he didnt have much of a chance. Well From this light we made a left on to the interstate, he had the inside lane, i had outside. I let him punch it after the turn. Within 3seconds I had passed him and put 2-3 cars on him.
FELLA's this Jeep is FAST. Finally living up to my name:rolleyes:
Well the final race is the same GTO i took from a dead stop to 105mph when I was stock. This time we ran from 60-80 rolls. Well I was not happy with this outcome. He pulled me??? Guess our gearing will still slow it down, oh well. I lost to a very worthy opponent. Our first race, when i held him off till 105 he was a 12.4 1/4mile car. Now he has more work done. From a dead stop the story would be very different.... NEXT TIME;)
GotStroke? 06-10-2007, 01:38 AM Sounds like a fun night Chris. What were the GT0s mods? If he was H/C + longtubes I can see him pulling on you, as he should be 420-450rw at around 1000lbs less weight.

FastSRT8GC 06-10-2007, 07:43 AM Bill,
The rear will help but to be honest with you I think you need to loose your stall and go back to stock or a beefier one w/ lower stall like 2k or so. I really am not having a huge issue with traction. It gets out of the hole quick!!

Don't know if you have a dashhawk, but can you give us some 0-60 runs once everything is dialed in? I can't even imagine how that thing must feel. hmmm....maybe tax season next year.....:D

Hmmm, Chris from my experience, the traction on the street and strip are two different animals. I still can not spin a tire on the street, even though I run 12.8. The strip typically has MUCH less traction even with a great track prep like I had that day I rented Rockingham.
I will stay with the 2600 stall that is rated at a much higher torque limit than stock. Actually, when ASM does the 426 swap, I may see if there is an ultra high torque rated converter available. I remember that the 1st thing Hennessey broke was his torque converter in front of the Car Craft crew.
Again, glad things are going well. We are approaching this from 2 different directions though....street racing (which I do try to avoid) vs. best et at the strip. The cops around here are tough on street racing, they recently confiscated 20 street racers (and put the drivers in jail) and are in the process of selling the vehicles. Here in Charlotte, if caught, you turn over your title to the city. I would hate like hell to lose a $85,000+ ride over one race.
Best to you!!
Bill
FastSRT8GC 06-10-2007, 08:09 AM I want ALL of you to know what type of company we are dealing with. Arizona Speed and Marine by far destroys the mindset of our bad dealing with some of these other guys.
I will tell you Kelly from ASM has called me at least 3 time JUST TO CHECK IN, and make sure the kit install was going well.
Jim the owner is in direct contact with me through email helping to figure out the sputtering issue and the walk of the belt(belt is fixed for good:D ). The sputtering might be due to my cam.
But I am almost shedding a tear, due to the support that I have received from them. I truly am not used to companies checking and helping as they have!
BILL, for sure you will drive out of that shop with a MONSTER JEEP that will be reliable!!! I am happy for you!

Yea, I will tell you they are doing the same here. I did not want to line up with any cars at the races, Your just asking for it. Now light to light with a punk with a vette.... NO PROBLEM.
I am sure you are right with the stall. I just remember you saying your traction problems started with that stall. Now with the stall, locking rear and some D/R's it will be insane!!!
Your also correct on the track. The street is a lot more consistent. The track is always different, either you hook like crazy or you don't at all.
WELCOME BACK WE MISSED YOU!! (tear, tear):p

Not advocating street racing but that's an off the deep end reaction similar to Guiliani's "quality of life" BS. Makes me sick.
FastSRT8GC 06-10-2007, 02:45 PM My hour trip down to my parents house went well. The computer is showing 19.6MPG:eek:
I am not sure if it is true or not. I will need to follow it the old fashion way. But if the MPG is up that much from my 13.6 the kit may be worth its weight in gold.
@ 80MPH I was just under 3k and at 5-10% throttle.
WE will see if it stays the same on the way back!
gculver 06-10-2007, 02:54 PM The B&G is still learning, it should come back to about normal, although mine is little less, about 11-12 mpg city with the hellfire. GC

At this point, I will not be blowing my Jeep, but there is a good chance that a year or so in the future, I will be looking to make a move and if for $10,000 I can see numbers in the 10's, then what can I say.
Looking forward to reading further, but again thanks for the thread.

There is a water to air aftercooler. It was not working because we thought the pump was bad. It actually needed to be primed better. Now it is working.
No alcohol or water injection yet! Waiting to up the boost levels first!

I wish. For the mechanically inclined it would take 1-1 1/2 days for the install. Very straight forward with descriptive directions. Should cost $500 or so for a shop to do it. Hardest part is the plumbing for the heat exchanger, aftercooler, pumps and overflows.

Leadfoot 06-11-2007, 12:31 PM Hey Fast..sounds like a pretty amazing setup..especially

Will be interesting to see dyno results. Do you have any
idea what benefit (approx hp/tq) you're getting out of
your other mods (kooks, D/R heads, cam, exhaust). Just
wondering what a pure stock setup with ASM S/C would
baseline at versus yours..??

your other mods (kooks, D/R heads, cam, exhaust). Just
wondering what a pure stock setup with ASM S/C would
baseline at versus yours..??
I just ordered the kit and will only have headers, off road pipes and B&B catback. no heads or cam for now. will let you know how it all works in a few weeks.

FastSRT8GC 06-11-2007, 01:26 PM Hey Fast..sounds like a pretty amazing setup..especially
with 19ish mph on the hwy. Definitely interested in further
validation on that mpg. Let us know. Hope you're not running
too lean. What was ASM's test JeepSRT setup when they
config'd their chip...stock..other?

125HP on a stock setup.
MOre Vids to come.
The other Mods should have added 70-100 HP
Inferno SRT8 06-11-2007, 01:27 PM 3.3 0-60 in an SUV I love it.
Congrats man and the damn thing has not adapted to anything yet, unreal!
FastSRT8GC 06-11-2007, 01:29 PM Well keep this in mind, NO pump for the aftercooler, Not completely learned PCM, temps in the mid to upper 80's and over 70% humidity.
DASHHAWK 0-60 3.3sec
I would like to correct some info. Sorry to get you guy all excited but the 3.3 is a wrong number. WE actually found a small problem. My crank pully was loose. SO i was loosing HP. I will try again soon... with video. I hope 3.0.

sounds like a plan. they said it should be to my door in 2 -2.5 weeks. Also have to put on the kooks headers with off road pipes. There may be a few calls required.. ha thanks again

You might want to ask around and see how everyone installed those headers. With out removing the heads it looks close to impossible! Also I would run the cat system. It is very loud even with them!
I believe someone here had a 12hr install on the headers!
Coldones 06-11-2007, 06:39 PM Chris - At this point I'm ready to race. Here's what needs to happen :
We'll line them up and you'll be facing the other direction.
On the third honk, we'll both go.
I'll bet you can turn that thing around and still run me down in the 1/4!
lol...

Coldones can let you know what it feels like in the JEEP.
Coldones 06-11-2007, 07:21 PM The Jeep is absolutely insane. :D
It's most definitely the fastest machine I've ever ridden in.
That all wheel drive launch caused the hat I was wearing to flip back on my head:eek:
The best part, there's still a baby seat in the back.

Tomorrow I actually have a car meet here in tampa where lots of folks are waiting to see the beast. If I have a chance to dyno and confirm the A/F , Also fix the slipping crank pully. I would be happy to meet up at the Orlando drags. SO possibly next Wed. Will give you more time to get that kit installed! Remember eventually you will run out of juice!

Acually i believe Bev's Jeep is the fastest. 11.6 at ATCO.
I have seen it on the net.
I think it has heads, cam and 125 shot or so. At ATCO I should be about the same with fingers crossed.

Inferno SRT8 06-13-2007, 08:19 PM Bevs is the fastest so far, im sure Fast is going to be right there too.
BTW N/A and no engine work is me, you know I had to add that and if I can keep from touching my engine internals I guarantee I break my 12.5 this winter.
QBNKID 06-13-2007, 09:30 PM Fast, congrats man, thanks for sharing, hope everything keeps working out with the jeep, it can only get FASTer.
Hey, that would be something to see this winter... you, Bev, Tony, Panajeep, Mango, Dave, NINO, JP and a lot more of the ATCO & E-Town regulars having some fun at the track and making history once again.
But please take it to the track soon, you got a lot of people on stand by for some real numbers, Im sure you can't wait either.
Blown-WK 06-14-2007, 07:51 AM Hopefully you will get some decent numbers. Florida is so humid right now and the conditions aren't ideal. Don't be surprised if you arent running as fast as you should. In cold weather you will be flying.

Now, how could I have left YOU out of that list Bill? I'm sure I left out others but the list would be pretty big, bottom line is hopefully we all eastcoasters or (fastcoasters) can get a huge track meet, hopefully by then I'll have my SRT and can join you guys, the 5.7L won't look too good that day and it will be depressing to see most of you guys running 2 & 3 seconds faster.
BTW, that throttle body is scary, niiiiiiiice...!
El Jefe 06-14-2007, 03:34 PM Any pics of the install or anything else? Im dying here, checking back every few mins haha
FastSRT8GC 06-14-2007, 06:56 PM I am going to try to get some good video this weekend. Keep your eyes peeled. The Boost gauge is installed, I am hitting 6-7 pounds. The A/F meter is installed just have to get the bung welded on tomorrow. Then off to the dyno on Monday!

If its my website then yes, i know your issue. You have a video conflict of somesort. I have had this problem once before. I do not remember specifics but I am sure it was a quicktime issue.

tainui 06-20-2007, 11:06 AM Is it necessary to upgrade the fuel pump for this kit? No where did I read the fuel pump was upgraded or supplimented. This might be the reason he's going lean up top.
El Jefe 06-20-2007, 11:08 AM He started a new thread call ASM Dyno #'s. 472rwhp after heatsoak
