Am I the only one who didnt know there is a key inside our remotes ? My wife dropped hers and we thought she broke it until I looked at the part that stayed on her key chain. I thought that sliding tab was for the battery. . .

I found out when the fob battery died in the Costco parking lot. I was cursing up a storm. I was like "why the fook would Jeep put a lock on the door yet give me this weird key. I was just playing with fob and it pushed the lever a the key appeared seemingly out of nowhere.

My dealer actually showed it to me. He also pointed out you can use it to lock the glove box and keep the key part if you valet it so nobody can get to the Ipod or whatever else you have in there.

I didn't know. I can't remember how long it took though before I discovered it. LOL.
I had a low fob battery message the other day. Took it to the dealer today for a new battery. Seems to work better now.
I must not have the same key on my '07. It's the fob/key combo...??? The backing just pops right off, no lever, no button.....

That I did not know. I'm going to check that out tomorrow for sure.
I found out the key was in there the first time my keyfob stopped working for over a minute. I unlocked the door with the key only to find that it sets the alarm off and makes you look really sketchy getting into the car, lol.
Ahhh so I figure this is the keyless option on the '09's and '10's, correct?

I found it the night I bought it. I'm a tinkerer. Heh.
It's a Mercedes thing. E class and above have had same style fob since 1996.
Does anyone know where the battery is for the key fob? Mine works soemtimes, sometimes not.

My 07 is not like this. I'm guessing it's like my Mercedes though. It has the hidden key thing. Nice to know these trucks are overseen by Mercedes.
