Hey everybody, I currently drive an 04 4.6 overland and am looking for an upgrade here soon. Torn between a a newer version of what I've got or spring for the SRT which will cost a little more. I know mileage will be a little less, I'm currently getting about 15 city, but my drive to work is about 5 miles so no big deal. I've read a few posts about cost of ownership and people seem to have mixed results. Do these things cost a fortune to own? I realize tires will be more expensive, what kind of mileage are you getting out of them? They have brembo brakes, are rotors/pads super expensive for those? Oil changes no big deal I suppose, what about the tranny/drive train? Any out of the ordinary issues? Im not an aggressive driver, will be my daily driver to and from work etc. I assume they hold value a lot better than the run of the mill Cherokee which would be nice as well.

Thanks for the input

I love mine, 18,000 miles on it so far.

Had 15,000 miles on my stock tires when I pulled them off.....not because of wear though, because I wanted something better.

Most expensive part is all the mods that I continue to buy, LOL.

For brakes.....R1Concepts has some good pricing, they are a vendor here.

Main thing on the drivetrain is changing the t-case fluid.....dealer only item for the fluid and I think retail is around $52 a qt. You need 2 qts per change (doesn't take the full 2 though).

As far as the breaks and tires you can get around those as theres lots out there to chose from. I just bought a full set of R1 slotted and drill rotors and hawk pads for 650 bux.
