Drove 6 hours Friday to Virginia Beach, VA to have Brent at DynoTuned Performance perform his magic on the Jeep before ATCO.
I screwed up my tune when I loaded / unloaded / loaded whatever....the check sums did not match and I had to load it with a very early version of the Diablo software.
BTW, thanks Madcharger for bailing me out of the tune deal.
So....Brent had to start from a stock tune and go from there.
I drained the fuel and added 10 gallons of race fuel for the pulls.
My goal was to see what it would do on Brent's tune with 20 psi max.
Oh...I dynoed the day before in Greenville, SC just to set up my new AMS 1000 boost controller and make damn sure it was working properly.
I have the waste gates CO2 operated with the AMS 1000.
In Greenville it made 550 hp to the tires with my 5 psi waste gate springs only, plenty for the street.
1st pull fell off at bit on top so Brent fattened it up.
Next pull, I forgot to arm the Boost controller so it was only a 5 psi, my bad.
Next pull was 1088 hp, pretty damn respectable on a new tune.
I asked Brent if I could make a final pull with my electric cutouts open.
By this time there was quite a crowd at the shop, all with a new interest in the Gen III Hemis, LOL.
Final pull 1142 hp, open cutouts, no other changes. Obviously, twin turbos like to have a pretty free exhaust!
Stayed the night in Virginia Beach and drove 6 hours back to Charlotte.
These hemi's are amazing.
Hats off to Brent at Dyno Tuned Performance for giving me a VERY SAFE tune!
1142 hp....pretty nuts!
I will tone it down for ATCO with the AMS 1000.
I plan on starting with a timed program that I will initially launch at 5psi and then bring in another 2 psi in the 1st 1/2 second, 2 psi in the next 1/2 second, 2 psi in the final 1/2 second of the 60' and then gradually ramp up to a maximum of 16 total psi and see how Big Al :)hooks this rig up on the NTO5rs.
My damn custom made 18" wheels have still not arrived so the NTO5R's it is.
Fun times.
