: CHP Charger in SoCal
Hemi@last 06-06-2007, 11:32 AM This morning a friend told me he saw a new CHP (California Highway Patrol) black and white Charger with a low profile light bar go zooming past him in pursuit of someone. This was in OC.
Let's be alert out there.

The Sheriff by me has so many 5.7 Chargers in his fleet that they even sell diecast models.
We've got a steel blue (or charcoal or something) suped up charger here in my local PD. I love it. All tinted out, and completely unmarked. My radar detector SCREAMS whenever it's within a half mile of me.
Got a ticket from a charger cop on the 241 toll roads, last week. And i was in my 5.7 Magnum =P Grrr i hate cops(for the most part)
JTSRT 06-06-2007, 01:45 PM Must be the new car for them. I live in a small town in Pa. and they all have the charger as well! Most of them are debadged but I did see one running around with the R/T badge on it.
OurZoo 06-06-2007, 02:29 PM I haven't seen any in the Valley yet

Maybe you could get the front doors on the Charger painted white :) :) :)

They look pretty sweet, but like the article says, now we have another set of headlights/tail lights to memorize ...
Some of the local PD's have em up here too ...

cumadogg 06-06-2007, 08:47 PM but the high output 3.5, not the 5.7 :( . I have a 2007 impala and it's actually quicker than the 3.5 Charger. Utah Highway Patrol has a few 5.7's but they have placed all their remaining orders on hold because they are already having problems with the brakes and tranny in the ones they have.
rrobello 06-07-2007, 02:11 AM they are all over SD. Ive seen them in Encinitas, Del Mar, hear theyre in Sorrento Valley, Temecula and as mentioned in OC. Coronado has a new stang to run down speeders.
SI_G35Coupe 06-07-2007, 05:11 AM we have them here in NYC as well... NYPD Highway Patrol has a bunch of them. i believe their first order was 5 V6 models and 10 HEMIs

iseedipp 06-07-2007, 06:05 AM OHP has quite a few of them the hemi 5.7 i asked if he wanted to race i don't think he liked that idea considering he didn't say anything. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y74/iseedipp/IMAGE_032.jpg
Mango 06-07-2007, 10:27 AM My former department is switching over to them for the Highway/Pursuit cars. I drove my former squadmates car down some of our back roads, road nice but not nearly as nice as an SRT. He actually didn't like the interior much. Less space than the Crown Vics, but overall a much better car. He said the problem with it is, people pay TOO much attention since it looks so damn good. Hehehe.

Highway is also running black unmarked ones too.
LittleDonnie 06-07-2007, 11:17 AM Got pulled over by a Colorad State Police driving a charger. I have seen a lot of unmarked charger county cars here. Since last year sometime.
AlexT 06-07-2007, 05:48 PM Maryland State Police run unmarked hemi Chargers, GTOs and Mustang GTs all up and down I-95 north of Baltimore.
They state that their primary target is aggressive driving.
