I had a question for everybody. What type air freshners do you all use in your vehicle? I've tried using the Lane product spray air freshners, but the smell doesn't seem to last long. I know that part of the smell not lasting is when I have my windows down. Back in the day, I use to buy these pyramid shaped liquid air freshners. The smell from those would last for weeks. Like LL Cool J use to say. Crazy air freshners who needs cologne!!!!!
Thanks.

Drier sheets do work well. Extremely well in the heat of the summer. ;) Try taking a small plastic conainer like a peanutbutter container with a screw top lid. Drill a bunch of holes in in and place a few drier sheets in there. Works great and that way the drier sheet "stuff" doesn't leave marks on your carpet and what not.

Try the rocks, you can get them from most auto stores. They cost about $2.89 a piece but they last for months.

I used to hate air freshners, but there's been a few times where some old sweaty towels or doggie bags have left a funk in my Jeep. I did invest in an ozone machine (for the house and other projects too). The ozone leaves the car smelling sterile and the air dry.
But to keep the air smelling good Chemical guys (http://www.chemicalguys.com/category_s/122.htm)make a great line that is stupid cheap.
I bought a gallon of the Leather and a gallon of the New Car. For friends cars that I've detailed they love it.
I spray one side of a small cotton towel, fold the towel in half and put it under the drivers seat. The amount of scent is subtle and the flavor is awesome. Changing flavors is easy by removing old towel and putting a new one in.
I want to try the watermelon and lemon scents next.
I like a Japanese brand called Myshaldan. It comes in a little tin can that you can put anywhere in the car. I like the "squash" flavor. I think something got lost in translation with the packaging because it says squash, but smells like grapefruit and has pictures of various citrus fruits on the label!
I just clean the seats with leather conditioner/cleaner and all of the plastic inside the jeep. That keeps it smelling and looking good without making it smell like a taxi.

oh wow, I got all kinds of weird smell sensations reading this thread! Right now I have the kind that slide in between the slits of your heater vents and its cool linen or something like that.It smells kind of like laundry detergent. Just a clean smell. You can't even tell they are there. They have a black end that looks like the knob that moves the vent. I like it for now but I always look for other things as well.

I keep thinking of when Dan Aykroyd in Tommy Boy makes the comment "You smell like a cab" and he proudly says, "It's a tree freshner".
