Well, exactly 1 year and 1 day after I brought the beast home, I found a track and decided to give it a go. Only thing anywhere close is a 1/8 mile track and luckily it was not too busy. Got in 10 runs. First time I have ever staged at a light tree except for the SRT Experience last year.

Anyway, don't know anything about DA or the specific weather conditions other than the guage in the Jeep read 84 degrees at 8PM and it was a typical muggy Tennessee evening.

The JGCSRT8 was a hit. Only met one person (running a SRT4) who had ever even seen one. Numerous phone pics and many, many questions. Everyone gave respect and really liked the Jeep. Everyone was amazed a 5000lbs vehicle could move like that. They did say a TBSS 2WD was running 8.6's a few weeks earlier and that it had no major mods. Maybe we'll met up next time.

Only lost one race and that was to a Trans AM that beat me the first time we ran becasue he used his juice. Motor to motor I beat him twice. Beat another Trans Am and a couple of 04-05 Mustangs with minor bolt-on mods. Beat a spiced up ricer and one small ford pickup. I guess when it only costs $15 to run, people will run anything.

I have a B&B catback and K&N drop-in and 13K miles. First run I forgot to turn off the AC. When I got home that night I realized I ran every race with traction control "ON"!!! What a nervous rookie mistake. I will be back...

Best 4 Times:

.4179 Reaction
1.9599 - 60ft
8.8589 - 1/8 @ 78.27

.5449 Reaction
1.9490 - 60ft
8.8651 - 1/8 @ 78.13

.6578 Reaction
1.9562 - 60ft
8.8651 - 1/8 @ 77.99

.3129 Reaction
1.9532 - 60ft
8.8660 - 1/8 @ 77.75

Worst Run: (Still beat one of the Mustangs on this one)

.5909 Reaction
2.0132 - 60ft
8.9951 - 1/8 @ 77.03

Had fun. Doing 180 t-stat, phenolic spacer and Volant CAI this week. We'll see if they make any difference. Oh yeah...and turn OFF the traction control!!!

Congrats man, it had to be a blast beating all those cars.
Like mrfreeze said, the more you run the better you'll get, by looking at your reaction times you are waiting for the green and then you punch it, next time try this, as soon as you see the last yellow light up floor it, you'll see the difference in your reaction times. Ohh yeah, traction control off.
How did you launch it every time, did you braked torqued it to a specific RPM?
If you have the transmission TSB done to yours, you might want to try leaving it on 1st and let it shift by itself, that worked on my friends jeep SRT8 (panajeep) with good results.
BTW, no 1/4 mile tracks by you?
Good luck next time and hopefully you'll run into that TBSS. Keep us posted.

Braked to 1200-1500 a couple of times, don't remember which runs. Need to write what I did on each slip.

They were using a "pro light setup?"...basically when you trip the second staging light you get 3 yellows all at one time and then the green. It happens very fast. I was expecting more of a countdown.

I have had the TSB for the trans done and ran twice letting the manu-matic change the gears. Again, did not note what I did on each slip. I'll add that to the "TRACTION OFF" sticker I'm mounting to the steering wheel next run.

Closest 1/4 track is in Bowling Green, KY or Huntsville, AL. Nashville obviously is not a be drag town. Either is about a 2 hour drive so once I get a few mods done...I'll make the trip.

Thanks for the message.
