: Aftermarket traction control switch?

I am new to these vehicles but I got a 07 back in early September from Florida and underneath the dash it has two aftermarket switches, one turns the electric fan on continuously and the only allegedly disables the traction control from what the guy told me and it causes the ABS and some other lights in the dash to come on until I turn the vehicle off and restart it.

What is the difference between that and just disabling the TC with the factory button?
Also when I used the factory TC button and turn it off there is a noticeable noise coming from underneath until I turn it back on then it goes away?

The fan control is understandable since the vehicle was in Florida driving in stop and go traffic in the high heat.

Allright.... here we go. The fan switch is used mainly at the track to keep the fan running while you cool down the truck before you run with the engine off. A cooler engine helps you run better. Leaving the hood open and the fan running helps out a lot.

The TC switch...... instead of pulling the ABS PUMP fuse like some do at the track, the switch has been setup. It does the same thing as pulling the ABS fuse. Even when you hit the TC button, it does NOT disable the TC completely. It sucks. You still have about 30% TC from what I've heard.

The noise you hear..... is completely normal. It's sending more power to the front end. Every Jeep does it. Yours is just fine. If you get stuck in snow, hit the button and you will have a better shot at getting out.

Hope that helps. Welcome to the club!
