Decided to take the wife out to smokey bones last night,,on the way a 2000 toyota corolla pulled up next to me at the light,,he starts reving his motor and i say to myself,,,oh com on, not a piece of s--t that wants to play-his buddy in the passenger seat yells out the window at me,,he says" that got that hemi?i said to myself ,oh man ,a red neck w/a langauge barrier.lol.anyway i said nah,,,just a v-8 ,,,he just nods at me.i look at my wife and she just smiles,,,and then starts nodding,,oh my god,thats the ok signal to whip his ass!!!!light gos green and the guy slams it in drive and the tires start spinning..this must be his moms car because this thing was getting a beetin from this guy!!!i know this guy thinks hes got some kind of race car here and no way am i goin to let a race get away from me nomatter what it is!!so i look around and see no cops,,,ITS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!i hit the gas and all you hear is exhaust from the magnaflows,,i tear by him like hes standing still,,niceeeeeeee.next thing i hear is "sweet" from my wife as she turns around in her seat to look out the back window to see the guy in the distence..we get to the next light and the guy pulls up next to me again and says "thats sweet"!!!! my thought exactly!my wife says good job honey!!!!! i say its a crap corrola,,she says "so,,a race is a race"!!! WOW my wife is lovin the beast 100% as we roll down the road she says to me,,,i cant wait to get my own race on! Exactly. I use to be like that when I first got my new motor in. You will reach a time when you wont even waste your gas on such easy kills. I get egged on all the time still and unless I know it will be worth it to break something or get a ticket, I wont race. I had this guy the other day in a brand new BMW 335 egging me on for a few miles. We hit a red light, he took off fast and then waited for me, then took off again. I said geez... So we end up getting another red light together. Light turns green, I ease on the gas, hes right at my side, I nudge the gas just a little, my X is so load he prob thought I nailed it, he hits the gas about 2 seconds before me, I hammer it, by the time I was finishing first gear I had already caught him, went through about half of second gear and he was dust, I let right off. He turned off and left. Then I thought... Why did I even do that. I new I would smoke him and im just exposing myself for trouble.

I don't know. Ive turned REALLY mellow in the last few years.

That's for sure. I had a HORIBBLE driving record from speeding tickets when I was in my teens and 20's. I left for a few years, came back to a perfect driving record.... :eek: Its like having a second chance you never thought you would ever get....

I treat it like gold now. Not just because of tickets but im extremely safety conscious now.

Peace and drive safe... trust me its not worth the consequences. Don't get me wrong, I still get on it, but its one thing to be a smart driver and another to be a stupid driver :)

Spray some Simple Green in there and bust out the power washer, then hand dry. That should flush things out for you and bring back that fresh feeling.

Throw my 2 cents in... The funniest race I had- well if you call it a race. I was watching a guy in a Z28 Camaro (LT1) race a Mustang in my 5.9L Jeep. Well I had dropped alot of mods in the Jeep to say the least but really hadn't raced anyone or been to the track. (It was a solid low 13 sec Jeep at that point). So I get behind these guys with my wife and a friend in the Jeep. The light turns green and they take off onto an empty highway. So I punch it to stay with them to watch the race. As I hit the top part of 2nd gear I am pulling on them to the point where I just go into the 3rd lane and slowly pass both of them in the middle of thier race. They both look over with confusion and my wife just waves as we go buy. They follow me to the next light and say "WTF was that? We were having a good race until we realized we were both loosing to a Jeep! lol" They didn't want to race again from a stop.

I had a 81 Rabbit when I was in high school. It was a diesel. I purchased a wrecked 84 GTI and swapped the running gear. Not only that, but I added heads, cam, throttle body, headers, exhause, ignition, clutch. That thing was the fastest thing I have ever driven to this day. It would eat 5.0 mustangs like they were standing still. It only topped at 140 due to the transmition gearing, but getting there instantanious. I called it the silver bullet. The guy I purchased performance parts from raced GTI Jettas. His engines made over 400 hp on a super light car. Fun!!!
