: $135 Oil/Filter change
RIDKLIS 10-22-2010, 07:23 AM
Some shops are SUCH hacks. If I didn't NEED it done today I'd have never gone with it.
I got one for almost half that in town at another spot, but I had to pick a shop in walking distance from my office. :boohoo:
I would've waited..a day or 2 wouldn't have hurt

I'm going on a road trip this weekend, otherwise I would have
Knuckles 10-22-2010, 10:32 AM I thought 100.00 was alot when I did my first Oil change. I guess when you need it you need it. Now I just change my own Oil.
HoustonHemi 10-22-2010, 10:48 AM Yep. Get a jack! The auto stores usually have good deals on oil/filter from time to time. Usually can get it all done for about $65-70.
SRT8-DOUGLAS SR 10-22-2010, 01:37 PM And WallyMart has Mobil 1, $21 for 5 quarts.

HoustonHemi 10-22-2010, 04:49 PM Thats a great price. I'll have to pick some up this weekend.
Grizz 10-22-2010, 06:10 PM That's about what it costs here in Canada at the dealer. Go to one of the "quick change" chains like Mr. Lube and you are looking at about 115.00

More like a reach-around.
jntdysf 10-23-2010, 10:34 AM Try asking you dealer if you can bring your own oil and filter. Thanks to a tip from a fellow member on the forum (Jim), dealer will do mine for $12, if I bring my own oil and filter. Builds good rapport. Plus, they do good work, so I don't mind giving them all of my business. It's a win-win on both sides.
srt812 10-24-2010, 02:02 PM Dont get it done by a dealership or anything like that because they just screw you over. Learn how to do it yourself and go to an autostore or anywhere that sells mobil one and do it yourself. It saved me at least 40$ on an oil change.
kenta 10-24-2010, 08:28 PM I bought mobil 1 and filter at Wally world and the dealer changed it for $10.50. Not a bad deal. It also documents it for warrantee
HoustonHemi 10-24-2010, 10:43 PM And WallyMart has Mobil 1, $21 for 5 quarts.

Hey I went to walmart looking for this deal today. They have Mobil 1 for 6.37 per quart and said thats the best deal they ever have ($32 for 5). Plus they don't even carry Mobil 1 filters...
Marklorenzo 11-06-2010, 12:45 AM Actually Dad, It is $6.00 since I am always the one taking the day to drive your jeep to the dealership. But I have to admit, driving your car for the day is a blast.
I do it myself. 7 quarts of 0w-40 from Walmart $49. Pure One Purolator oil filter at autozone or advance auto, $6.99.

HoustonHemi 11-06-2010, 04:00 PM 0w-40 doesn't come in the jugs. At least not that I can find. ??
