Couple of questions. In the UK, LPG is about 50% cheaper than super-unleaded (99RON). If I converted it to LPG, would I :
-Get same performance
-More or less MPG
-Any side affects given the GCSRT8 is a performance car

Much less mpg, and even more time filling up. In order to take advantage of the higher octane rating, you'd have to make some internal changes like cam/headwork/pistons. Converting won't be cheap either--it may actually negate the difference in fuel cost.
E85 would be a less costly conversion and it's still ~110 oct.

Sorry but your reply is totally wrong - I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about.
You don't make any internal changes - the LPG system bolts in addition to the petrol system.
Performance loss is negligable.
Yes, the conversion cost is £2500 but it depends how long you keep the car as to whether you save money - for me its a no brainer.
I get 17-18MPG (34-36 petrol equivalent) and I can get 250 miles per tank full.
Here's my pics of the conversion:

Don't ask in the USA, Gov is in cohort with the oil giants so that we burn as much fuel as possible, no diesel cars here, much less LNG, here we have E85 or electric, which are both jokes, since we don't embrace nuclear power, which is clean, we burn coal instead, effing up the planet on a daily basis.

Alan,
Are you UK based? Who did your conversion?

Hello Quadman,
I agree with Alan - it is an economic question to convert to LPG in addiction of your mileage per year, not a performance question.
For the same power with LPG the fuel cosumption is near 20 % higher than with super plus unleaded. The major problem is to find a assembler, who can handle the V8 with the right construction for high performance. Many converted SRT 8 in Germany runs to lean in the upper range. My Jeep runs perfect with two evaporators for LPG and brown injectors from Keihin. The manufactuerer of my conversion is Prins Autogassystem form the Nehterlands. They are the market leader here in Germany: http://www.prinsautogas.com/en/products/vsi-lpg/vsi-lpg.html

Hi
My LPG system was installed two years ago by a guy in the UK who builds and runs high performance vehicles, so no lean burn problems here! ;)
It has run perfectly for two years, though there were injectors replaced under warranty.

It's a BRC Sequent 56 system.
