Hello all, been following the board for a while now, figured I would finally join up.

Does anyone know if there are ceramic pads available or are in the works for the GCSRT8's? I am trading in my 2006 Brilliant Black Metallic 2006 CSRT8 in on a Steel Blue Jeep SRT at the end of the year. I have loved and truly enjoyed the C, but we are considering a move to CO the following year, and before I really started chunking change at the C (only has GSM Tq/Fan Mod, filter, and alarm as of now), thought I would wait till I got in the Jeep. I have loved the Jeeps since inception, and planned purchasing one when I actually bought my C. Time to right my wrongs.

As you can see by my sig, I am no stranger to brake dust. :D  Just wondering if a fix was in the works for the Jeep. I tried cantacting Hawk on the matter, but didnt find out what I was looking for.

TIA, and good to be here with you all.

Do not get ceramic pads!!!!!!!!

They do not stop if the brakes get to hot. My buddy had a vette, he had just got it back from having a mti motor put in it so he was having some fun in the back roads and about 10-15 minutes of haveing fun he came to a three way stop and could not stop so he plowed through a brick wall. Hate to see that to a new GCsrt8. Just my experience on those pads and thats not the first time hearing that I can't stop because my ceramic pads overheated.

Yes they do stop quick and they do reduce brake dust but they still get hot and when they get too hot they don't work. Those pads came on my vette when I bought mine used and after that happend to my friend I got new ones.

So are ceramic brake pads for little old ladies rides then? If you can't run these hot and they are so dangerous, what is the reason people upgrade to these?

I have, in the past, and will continue to upgrade to ceramic pads. I am not a hardcore driver, so I can't speak for that group, but for daily drivers, ceramic pads are a very nice upgrade.
