there may be mods out there to get you 1 or 2 MPG. But if you are like most of us. You will burn what you save when you just itch to put the pedal to the floor.

Best mod, hybrid....

Just buy a beater and call it a day. I went from 8MPG in the Jeep to 300 miles per tank in my Passat. The savings in fuel alone is enough to pay for my beater. :)

Mods may get you 1-2 mpg, but at a cost of a few hundred bucks. That makes it not worth it mpg wise. As said by MichaelSRT8, the second you hit the throttle with your new mods, you'll burn even more fuel than before, its a catch 22.

Im seeing 15mpg in town on 91 octane up here in colorado. All I have done is the bwoody 4" CAI. I did notice an increase in mpg after I put it on. But everyone is right. I try with all my might to stay off it, but she usually gets the best of me.

Better gas mileage and SRT8 in the same sentence is a No-NO

Add another gear to the tranny! That will give you ridiculous mpg

Air your tires way up. I drove back from the track with 43 psi in my fronts and 37 in my rears. Got 16.5 mpg highway, a record for me.

Get in touch with this guy and tell him you want a "high mpg tune".

http://diablotoona@gmail.com

I gained 2-3 mpg on the highway with just his tune. The additional performance comes with increased efficiency vs what the factory gives you. Other mods like a CAI, high flow cats, larger tires with higher inflation pressures all help as well. All together they helped me also but only about 1 mpg additional. It's all negated though when you mash your throttle pedal.

Could doing a 2wd conversion help some- reduce rotation mass?

Sure, if you feel like jacking up your beast and removeing the front driveshaft and transfer case motor, you can run 2wd. You may gain 2-3 mpg, but lose all your traction.

Just get a performance tune from Johan and it will give you 1-2 MPG. If you want to get people busting on you...just ask how to get better gas mileage from you beast!

I wouldn't be racing around like that (other than maybe a few burnouts) but its FREEEEEEEE

Dude, myself and all the other GCSRT8 owners didn't buy the truck for the gas milage. Every performance mod that we have purchased was bought to make our Rig go faster which = burning more fuel.........It's nick named the BEAST for a reason!!!!!

To answer the first part, no a BWoody will not really help. In theory you could gain like 3mpg max, but you won't at all. If anything, my gas mileage has gone down since I got mine. I just floor it more since it's a little faster and sounds cool.
