I took my jeep to get serviced for the brake squeal today. They just called and said they replaced the rear brakes, and fixed the passenger window that kept going up half way and deciding to go back down for no reason. I told them not to do anything unless it was under warranty, mines an 06 with 9,000 miles, but i guess they just replaced it all. :)

I was worried they might say the brakes weren't covered.

I have an 06 with 7000 miles and will be going in for the brake tsb soon.

Question: did they say what was wrong with the window? My driver side does the exact same thing.

He just said they put in a new window actuator in.

If others are worried, I would print out the TSB ahead of time and take that in with you. The link to the TSB is covered in another one of the brake threads.

Jerry -

The window used to do that when I owned the Jeep, too.

It has something to do with the sensitivity of the window Auto-up feature (you know, the window has a built-in safety feature that, if there is something - like your head- sticking out the window when the Auto-up feature is engaged, the window will automatically go back down instead of closing your head in the window.). The new window sensor adjusts the Auto-up settings so it's not "as sensitive".

P.S. - You've been busy modding since February, haven't you???:D

Thats exactly what I did. after they saw the printout and took the car for a quick spin to ensure it is squeeling, the service manager immediatly ordered the pads and will have them in tom. morning.

I quoted the TSB reference with my service department so that they could order the brake pads ahead of time. I had the brakes done today & their "quick" confirmation spin put 10 miles on the odometer. I wasn't too happy with that ! On the other hand, I'm happy that the brakes don't squeal anymore..................

I did my brake TSB today as well. So far it seems to be working :) Also, they did do a full rotor replacement, not just a resurfacing :D

Next time tell them you don't want the vehicle taken off the lot unless you are in it.
