Ever watch NHRA or Old movies where they drag raced on TV? Never saw them starting from a roll. Rolls are for the losers that can't win the original way so they had to find an advantage point. That led to people racing on interstates and putting other peoples lives in danger. Think about how small Hawaii is! Tell'em to meet you at a track and race the old fashioned way. Hell, the engineers who designed the SRT8 never had Roll racing in mind or they wouldn't have made it an AWD beast!:thinkerg:

Also if hit wants to do a rollin start race just slow the rolling start down a bit to like 25 or 30, the jeep is a beast from a 30 punch in 1st gear, I cant jump a car on my buddy's M3 from that speed. I would bet at that speed he'll blow the tires when the nitros kicks in. If you want to be dirty just jump him 30 punch run it to 70-80 and jam the brakes to slow down for the "pot hole" he shouldn't have caught you by then, go home laughing. There is a guy around here who has a Snail blazer with evil SS on the plates, hes got a lot done to his i think he runs 12.3's or something like that with the bottle on a 150 shot. Even he knows what will happen motor to motor and ducks me every chance he gets when his bottle isn't in. I'm thinking heads and cam and I'll give him a try.

i wouldnt be scared to 105ish from a dig... or if you get the right speed from a roll... keep in mind our tranmissions have an extra gear... so as long as you are in your sweet spot (and if you catch him out of his) you should be good...

I totally get what your saying but he hasnt and didnt want to race from a dig Until his NOS got installed. Plus the track has been shutdown for a couple yrs down here. we definitely dont race on the freeway...we have spots where there is no one but us. Safety comes first.

"pothole" thats hilarious lol I was thinking 40mph but i will take your advice and tell him 30 he has only ever raced me from a roll and ive never gone that slow to race him even though even Than all he ever sees is my license plate (SSTHIS) lol.

i wouldnt be scared to 105ish from a dig... or if you get the right speed from a roll... keep in mind our tranmissions have an extra gear... so as long as you are in your sweet spot (and if you catch him out of his) you should be good...

well to answer your question we pretty much head to the other side of the island where its farmland on both sides of the 2 lane early in the a.m and their is a certain road that we block off thats just a little over 2miles long but there is a upward slanting hill Exactly at the 1/4mile mark. The only reason i ever go that fast is because even though i have like 2 car lengths or more on him he keeps going until he starts pulling on me and if i slow down he says he won...you believe that? crazy ba$tard.

I would say it's a 75-100 shot for sure. I'm leaning more towards a 100 shot. If he has a tune for it, I'm sure he has his timing retarded.

My sig is up to date. I’m at 3500ft with typical DA’s in the 4-5000ft range so my truck is in the consistent 13.5-13.6 range here (about 12.5-12.7 at sea level).
I agree though that a TBSS with a blower and supporting mods including proper dyno-tuning should be quicker. The owner was not impressed.

Yup that's 100% true. I bought the n2o kit because I got a killer deal! Then 3 days later my motor breaks a piston and I'm down. Boom $3,700 down on a full forge build and retuning ect. And a free n2o install.. So bye bye any hopes soon for a trans.lol. I really think it's sad to buy a 50 shot no need!!. It just blows my mind on with the money spent what you could really spend the money on something else. IMO the money spent on a weak 50shot a cam would make it alot faster..Quote:

Sorry guys for keeping you out the loop for so long....he FLAKED! So last thursday we met up just to try a couple runs because he didnt want to wait any longer, we did a couple runs and he wasnt getting the results his Tuner promised him he would lol. we couldnt agree on who was actually faster because we did all the races from a roll I told him 25mph and he Wouldnt slow down to that speed (even though we agreed on the speed before hand), he kept expecting me to match speeds with him like at 40mph and i would just stay back so he would take off with about a cars lead on me and say he won! It was to the point that i was getting really aggravated practically pissed off because he is my friend, but i couldnt believe he was actually saying that he slowed down to 25 but it was me that was going to slow. Anywayz we ended up agreeing that we had to do it again on friday in front of the rest of the people that race and come friday he texts me where im at, i tell him on the way to the spot where we always meet up and he says cool...i get there and he texts me he is GOING to SLEEP! You Believe it!!!...i didnt no what to think so i let it go and enjoyed my night. NOW he says this Friday for sure he will race so i tell him look we going to go race 1/4 mile from a dig but ONLY if you can admit that the victor has the Fastest SUV period (sounds logical right) but NO he tells me that a 1/4 mile race does not determine who has the faster SUV??? because he knows from a roll at like around 50 he can still take me (supposedly)...im just disappointed that a person i call friend cant seem to be able to admit that if he loses he has to Man up to it. If i lost in that 1/4 mile i would gladly congratulate him and tell him his SS is faster but apparently he refuses to agree to a 1/4 mile race actually being enough for that. Maybe some people really cant stand the fact that they are going to get owned or openly admit that they lost Fair and Square. What do you guys think???

Nah, if he just threw a S/C on a stock truck then his times are where they should be for our location. My H/C/3200 stall + full exhaust truck did 13.55's at DA's of 4000ish. At Castrol my AWD TBSS went 14.9-15.0's bone stock... bleh!

Ok guys today is the day i havent forgotten. Keep in mind Hawaii is 6hrs ahead of Eastern Standard time. I have two guys bringing video cameras hopefully they come through. Either way i will post up the results and i will make him man up in front of everyone or go home.

Your right lifes lessons does make you thick skinned BUT being in the Marine Corps and getting chewed out and having someone curse at you in every single way possible when you screw up while Having to stand at parade rest without moving helps lol.

So we did end up racing at the 1/4 mile strip last night and I Won both times by a trucks length maybe a little more. Apparently though his NOS was having malfunctions and his bottle wasn't completely full and wasnt giving him the 1000psi pressure he needed to shoot 75 shot, plus he put to much racing fuel and his timing was off so we raced N/A both times which sucks and Isnt the point of this Whole thread but i cant do nothing about that. Im just glad I got to race and didnt lose. One of my friends got video for both races, but he will be busy the whole day today so i wont be able to get them and post them until probably tomorrow. I dont know whether to delete this thread after i post the videos, because i didnt get to do what the title said yet? But thanks guys for all your advice.

We have yet to settle it until lastnight (dig) ran 2 times and like ur guys trucks do he ate me up by a truck by the 1/4 mark. I spun and he grapped either way he won. Vid? A douchebag took both vids from the finish. Now as for me and what has been said i have a zex wet kit jetted for 75 shot. To clear things up and my bottle pressure was 4-500psi and for u nitrous guys thats really low. I was down to spray and just let him no i pulled 4 degrees of timing and running 100 octane. So thanks guys for all the advice, but most of all thanks to my Jeep SRT8 for comin through one more time. No SS has been able to beat me so far...all they see is my SSTHIS license plate from behind and keep wishing lol

In the olden days...... the TBSS owner would be walking home and LaZo would have 2 rides.... no matter WHAT happened. You show up to race, have everything ready. Don't show up with 4* less timing with race gas and a low bottle pressure. That's just common sense. Run what you brung and no excuses.

I owned a 06 TBSS and really liked it until the tranny blew at 20K. To be honest these trucks are really close in speed. The only reason the SRT8 is out front is because the tranny in the SS sucks big time. Change the torque converter in the SS and they are dead even. Granted, The SS is cheap in every way to the SRT8.
