My jeep is equipped with power side mirrors that I can close using the mirror adjustment knob... is there a way (MOD or something) that will automatically close the mirrors upon closing the engine and open them on start... I know MERCS and BMW have this feature..

They fold when the mirror adjustement knob is turned to the central position. Gulf spec also have this feature
That would be sweet. Someone get the parts and convert!

Mine is an SRT8 Gulf Specs... You have to turn the mirror adjustment knob all the way down... (counterclock wise) to check if this works for you..
We have a different mirror adjustment knob in the USA
I picked up the mirrors, just need to get them painted and installed.
I am leaving for a work trip tomorrow, so doubt I will get to this till Feb at this point.

Installing now
Gonna give us some pics..right?
It didn't work and after doing some research I found this
---------------------------------------
Left Door Preparation:
This morning started to work on the Left Door.
Left Door Panel removed:
http://img682.imageshack.us/img682/7678/panelremoved.jpg
Rear of the Panel
http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/2566/insidepanel.jpg
Old Mirror Switch on Panel
http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/3001/oldswitch.jpg
Old and New Mirror Switches
http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/1930/2switches.jpg
New Mirror Switch, had to mod it to make it work, removing the 2 corners, see green arrows
http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/7915/switchmod.jpg
May be the Mod to the new Mirror switch is not easily understandable, so here is (maybe) a better description:
http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/7915/switchmod.jpg
As you can see I've removed the 2 upper corners, otherwise the connector would not fit in the new Mirror Switch
New Mirror Switch installed on Door Panel

Preparing the "new" Mirror adding Auto Dim Glass, FAILURE http://www.lxforums.com/board/images/smilies/doh.gif
The LHD Mirror Glass with Auto DIM is FAT compared to the RHD non Auto DIM one, it fits, but it has not enough space to move, had to put on the original RHD one.
Added the connector to the Power Folding wires
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/5554/mirrorconnector.jpg
Added new wires with cover from Mirror Power Folding Connector, from Mirror Switch, to out door, see green arrows
http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/2381/doorwired.jpg
Wires out from the speaker hole and preparing to go out
http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/8836/doorout.jpg
Wires taken out
http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/7***/dooralmostready.jpg
At this point I bridged the wires out of the door and was ready to test, FAILURE http://www.lxforums.com/board/images/smilies/doh.gif
Had 12V on the Mirror Power Folding Connector, but the Mirror didn't fold/unfold... Strangely I had not enough current.
So I added a 12V wire from the DOOR CONTROL UNIT to the Mirror Switch, see green arrows
Also added a little 2A Fuse for security, see red arrow
http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/1670/wireadded.jpg
So here is the 1st test:

And here the test after reassembling the door:
