Well I took the newly blown Jeep for drive yesterday and DAMN!! I was expecting to have permagrin the whole drive and I was right.. I found a long 2 lane road newly paved and no traffic, turned the dashawk on and the first 0-60 was 3.56 and the second was 3.44.. I'm pretty happy with that considering thats on half bald crapyears and Vortech tune. Im fortunate enough to live next to Johan so when we get it on the dyno Im hopin for low 3 sec 0-60.. Thanks to everyone and their posts for their knowledge on the Vortech and making me a happy and proud GCSRT8 owner!!

Well I cant give you a long time opinion but Im sure there is plenty of other memebers that will vouch for the Vortech. I did the install myself to save some cash for more cool sh*t. The mod bug has bit and bit HARD

I would love to do the work myself but time is a factor, and I'm envious that you did your install. Did you research and local shops that might be reputable, were did you purchase the vortech, and do you have any pictures to post?

I think Chris at LPM would be the closest and most reputable (Melbourne I think).. Hit up Tim at DCX for the kit and Ill have pics when hook up with Johan on the dyno.. Where do you live and what color is your Jeep

Your are so right, breakin 4 wheels loose and gettin a little sideways in a 5k lb Jeep is sick and kind of funny at the same time

My Vortech was installed by University Dodge in Davie, Florida. Contact the Service Manager, Mark Leslie for data regarding same. The Viper Tech who did it is named Ray. I believe he improved on the placement of a number of the kit's items while puting it in. Univeristy Dodge also modded my Techco supercharged Challenger (they installed the Techco, the 3.92 rear end and the Mopar Corsa catback and coordinated with Johan on the custom tune. They also maintain my supercharged Viper for street, road course and standing mile events. The bottom line is that they have extensive experience with these cars. Johan knows Mark Leslie well. Feel free to ask him.

How much did they charge you for the install if you don't mind me asking?
What else did you need to do to the car after the Vortech install to get it running(Tune)?

Thanks,
Al

Vortech sends a tune with the kit, it is good but there is alot more hp in it if you get a custom email/dyno tune.

Just call Mark and discuss the price with him. I do not discuss financial issues over the net. Sorry.

As for what had to be done to the car, other than installing the kit, which is a significant number of hours to do precisely and properly; and, tweaking the calibration a little for a start up rich condition misfire code and upping the top speed a bit, nothing else was required. The vehicle is otherwise completely stock and runs flawlessly. In case you have not seen this video, here is an example of how well it runs. The white sign on the left is the half mile mark. The best run was 159.52 MPH.
