Hey guys, I'm new here.
I'm currently in the market for an 07-09 gcsrt8. Upgrading from my scion tc lol.
Are there any common problems or defects to look out for when looking at these cars?
What should I look for (besides the usual car stuff) when buying these cars?
I'm in the Houston area, so if anyone know of any cars for sale in the area, shooting me a PM would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ihab

If i was to being buying 1 i would make dam sure it was all bone stock as im sure theres a few out there. At our dealer they got in a 06 with 45,000 miles and it still had the oem gy runflats and stock cai with stock exhaust. Now this is what to look for. Now i no they can put back on the stock cai but no 1 is going to put back on stock exhaust. I would also make the dealer change the t/c oil along with the tranny fuild and filter.

^ Agree with the advice. If it has the GY runflats make sure that the tires are not showing bad uneven wear on the inside of the front tires. Since the truck comes with a bad camber alignment. I didb't know this when i bought mine, and just recently I noticed that my two front tires are GY's and are dangerously worn out, and i mean missing rubber and wires showing. Wish I would have caught this, along with a fresh T-Case and Differential fluid change. Good Luck.

Yes the 06 that came in had both front tires seperating so i told the srt guy there what to do on the camber but he said he cant has to be set stock or its there ass.

Do all of these cars have the shake around 70+ mph?
Is it something I should look out for, or do they all have the same issue?

Mine does not shake. It is uncommon, fortunately, but the fix can be elusive.

Mine does not shake nor do the brakes squeal. Knock on wood!

I guess a better question might be:
WOULD you buy one of these used, with like 30-40k miles?

I might, depending on if it was a one owner, stock and had service history. I just got my 08 with 18k miles. I was going to look at an 09 with 30k but never made it that far :D

I got my 06 with 23k on it. Stock GY runflats, exhaust and CAI. Had dealer do oil, tranny and coolant flush and put it on lift with no tires on it so I could inspect everything i felt like. They went for it.
