: Front Facia - modified?

Although it certainly looks cool, the most common complaint I hear about is the limited clearance of the front fascia. Has anyone modified or replaced it successfully and do you have a picture? Easy to do? Recommended?

I drive it like I want to and I think I've rubbed the front 2x now. You just have to be careful of certain parking blocks and pulling in and out of steep driveways. It's really not any big deal IMO.

That's nice to hear... you just got me one step closer to buying one!

I have been reading the forums for a while now but have a question.

My business requires me to go off road sometimes, but nothing like the rubicon, easy trails etc. However, the front facia hangs down about 5 inches too low. My solution is to replace it with a stock cherokee facia. I know, it won't look as cool but it should work and it will be a sleeper from the front. Suposidly, the parts are interchangeable. It's just that I don't want to get the Trailblazer ss, which would work without modifications but the Jeep is soooooooo much better.
I need to know what you guys think. I really want one vehicle that does it all and I can't handle a slow pile. I have searched for over 2 years now and there is nothing else. :)

All your changes sound good, but just remember that we do not have a low range like the other Jeeps.

Here's a link to Scottina's with some pics.....who converted the opposite way. Can't tell from pics, but I don't know how much clearance you actuall gain. I think we are almost 7 inches off the ground on the SRT8.

I'd get it, roll the Dice with the Srt8 stock fascia. If you wreck it then replace it with whatever you want.

Just get it. I swear I look for places to go now, just so I can cruise around in mine.

That’s funny I am the same way. We use to take my wife’s Tahoe every where, now I always insist we go in my GCSRT8 just so I can drive it. I do have mixed emotions about it though; I cringe every time my kids pile in and out of it. Don’t want to beat it up but I love to drive it too much.

Thank you all for your input. You guys are very helpful.
I'm not worried about low range since the off roading is not that serious.
From what I've read its 7 inches from the facia to the ground and with the regular cherokee facia I am guessing 11 to 12 inches, but I don't know for sure. Does anybody know?
It sounds like it should work just fine from what you guys say. I could also modify srt8 facia, but I don't think it will look good when I'm done with it.
I have already made a list of all the mods I want to do and I don't even have the vehicle yet. I guess I have SRTF Street Racing Technology Fever!!

Dude...If you buy an SRT8, DO NOT take it off road!!! If you want to go off road buy any other Jeep model you want, but not this one. It's not made for the offroad, It's built to be a fast street machine.

Just my 2 cents:eek:
