So I knew how it was going to go but still fun considering the situation. Some people just have no idea of what these rigs can do until they get a first hand taste.

Co-worker of mine driving his gf’s brand new Camaro SS and we hit a light on the way out for lunch. Previously he had brushed off anything I had told him about my rig being slightly performance oriented and gone on to tell me about his / his gf’s new camaro being so exotic. He was driving with one passenger and while we are bs-ing at the light with the windows down not watching she points and says “go”. We both knew what was going to happen but I wanted to let him go first and make sure he couldn’t use the “you got the jump on me” excuse. So he stomps it and gets about a half second head start on me. That was closed in about a half second and I leaped to about a car and a half lead on him instantly, then slightly built on that through our first gears. By mid way through second it was time to shut down as we were in front of a cop station (literally) and almost at our turn (and there was parked cars coming up in my lane). I gently slowed and gave him the thumbs up giving him courtesy and they right away to go ahead.
In the parking lot after he says man that Jeep has got some balls or something along those lines. Respectfully I reply – yea I suppose, it gets me around ok.
He is 100% stock and has like 5,000km’s on her. I have mods in sig below and 15,000km’s on mine.

Nice. i was in pa last night and this kid pulls up next to me in an 04 m3 blasting his music and i had 4 people with me and i told them hang out for a sec. The light turned green i let him get the jump and i blew by him at the next light he pulled up next to me and was like what is that thing and im just like its a stock jeep no big deal

Some ppl just don't know about these rigs, at the 1/8th mile this year more than one person asked me why would I enter, it's a friggin cherokee, I told them I had spare time between dropping off the kids at soccer and picking up groceries. It really suprised people, next time out, more mods!!! Too fast for the class with plates, a bit too slow for pro, that needs to change. Good kill, thanks for sharing!!

Nice one man! Yeah I did the same thing to a dude that had HIS gf's new camero SS at the track. Well at least he said it was it gf's because it was white with pink race stripes. Got him twice and he kept coming up with excuses of why the SUV beat him. lol. priceless.

Had the Jeep parked out front of my place today. I heard something getting on it going past(pretty loud exhaust). Looked out and it was an SS. I guess he wants a piece......LOL. Ill have to look for him........

I raced another last night too. He was slightly quicker than most of the stock ones, but he still only turned a 15.0. Maybe he wasn't stock. ;) Didn't get a chance to talk to him. The Lingenfelter SS was there too. Didn't run him, but he was turning mid 12's.

I had about 6 TBSS down in Sherevport a few months ago that couldn't break 13.5. I was pulling 13.1's all night.

Going back down to the track tomorrow night. Just got the Borla, a Jet 180 and a CMR tune by Johan. So I'll see how much better I do.

Should do much better. I've only seen two at the track here, both with similar bolt-ons and a tune, and I was about a second quicker than them.

13.9 or 12.9 was the best?
In Calgary I have seen many in the low 13's. I'm guessing a bolt-on car with a good driver at Castrol would run into the high 12's on a good crisp run. They should be quicker than my 13.1's Charger considering the weight and gearing with a decent driver mod.
I'm sure we will see a few tomorrow night!

Maybe the difference might be stick vs auto. But there were 2 bone stock ss with auto tranny's and 13.9 was the best time for both. Both were 2010's too. Bran new. On the other side though, there where 2 bone stock new 5.0's running 12.7's all day!!

5.0's running that quick? damn must have been a good night for them! One at Race City a month back was just cracking 13's stock. Spoke to the guy for a bit and ha said it only had 1200km's on her or something and he felt it needed gears to get into a more respectable time.
Should be interesting tonight with some decent DA's it looks like.
