I'll be driving to Mt Laurel NJ on business from June 5th to the 8th. I'll be taking the Turnpike (we call that a toll road here in the midwest) the whole way. This is the first long trip I've taken with the SRT so I'm curious to see what kind of millage I get. It's a pretty straight and flat ride until you hit PA. I am looking forward to those winding roads in PA! I just have to look out for the highway patrol. I got a ticket from one of Pennsylvania's finest last year, $105! Keep an eye out for a black SRT with Indiana plates and that will probably be me. :)

I was right around 15mpg from New Jersey to Providence this week averaging between 75-85mph.
Enjoy the trip.

Invest in a laser jammer/shifter. Either a blinder or Escort's ZR3 Shifter. My 1st road trip with the ZR3 installed I got tagged at 160km/h in a 100hm/h zone.......no ticket as the jammer worked:D Pays off in a hurry...especially with the beast.

Thanks for the info I'll check out both. I'm assuming both are illegal in most states.

I just took my new GC SRT from Washington, DC to NYC and got 16 mpg with a heavy foot on the go-pedal. The only downside was picking up a huge screw in the edge of the sidewall of one my front tires. Nothing worse than having to replace a high-performance run-flat with less than 800 on the odometer.

The mileage is signifcantly less than the 25mpg that I got on my recently departed 04 Z06 and 05 CTS-V, but who cares? The Jeep is a blast! I don't care what the gas bills are.

By any chance you are not VP Cheney from Washington DC aren't you? Since you don't care what the gas bill are... :)
Politician?

Seriously, I think that's a good average for a jeep SRT8 going form DC to NYC.
Sorry to hear about your tire, that sucks.

Ha! Can you imagine having an SRT pull up next to you with **** Cheney behind the wheel? I would pay money to see that.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the highway mileage that I got. In the city, the gas guage goes down faster than my ex-wife at a biker bar.

I love this machine. I jump at any excuse to get behind the wheel.
