We need to nix the talk about hacking the stock Nav unit as the administrators have expressed that they don't want to lose support from Mopar for this and related sites enjoying the positive relationship with the manufacturer.
I really dont get this concept....The Mopar guys arent the ones teling us how to bypass stuff...Why would it hurt the relationship with this site? I mean its not like they dont know that we are all going to personalize our vehicles.
I mean as far as hacking the stock nav, Its not like its really a big liability for them. This is why.....
They make the suv with the nav....they disable the nav and video....we hack it to do nav in motion and play video....thats our problem not theirs.
I mean if its that serious then you could say that they are liable for any broken laws we do while driving the jeep...Speeding,drag racing etc..
It doesnt make any sense to me.
Thats one of my big peeves....I realize that a manufacturer wants to be able to control everything about the car but for this type of vehicle, Thats why we all bought it....
Or the vast majority of us. What I mean is, if you look at the kind of person that is buying this thing, it would seem to me that it is performance seekers and that means that the guy will most likely be modifying it to make it go faster....By closing him out and not releasing the stuff he needs to be happy with his purchase, it seems to me that it will keep him from buying the vehicl again.
Does anyone feel me here?
I can bet you money that the SRT guys have lost business to other manuf. because the owner cant get his jeep to go any faster.... Thats why I vowed to never buy another mercedes. I had to spend over $12000 to get any more performance out of it.
Maybe Im just rambling.
But it is really kind of agrevatting some times....
I feel as though I own a mercedes again. My previous vehicle was not a performance car, but I thought I would be able to get something more out of the dang thing...But nothing gave you anything substantial.
The Jeep fooled me..I thought it would be a good upgrade vehicle....with plenty of stuff out there for me to make it go faster( once I had the $)
I wish that the SRT engineers would just release the info that we need for tuning and other stuff....I can guarantee that the current owners will be much happier campers...
Again I LOVE my JEEP..but this is just bugging me....
And I cant actually say that I would buy another one if I was a true performance junkie. I would probably just go for something that is easier to upgrade.
The only thing I would like to have for my own right now is a programmer. But I can totally feel the anguish others that ARE IN FACT performance oriented guys are feeling...
Some of you guys are spending Tons of cash for minute results...And I dont think its right....
Sorry for the rant!!! Ill shut up now...
