So left for the lake last thursday,

started off good, stopped to get some food,

got to ride the ski for about 20 min then the battery died, so we thought. Got a new battery, and turns out the charging system is done, so it sat on the trailer for 3 days.

got home, cleaned up the jeep and the ski before going to put it in the garage

parked next to my brother in laws lifted F250, think its got like a 10" lift on it sittin on 20's with 36" tires, he was dropping off the boat, i was dropping off the ski, he backed up to the garage, i pulled straight in. Dropped the ski, got in the jeep started it and was about to leave and forgot to do something. Left it running, got out went and moved our generator, came back jumped in and backed out......right into his damn door! He had come outside and opened his door, and left it open and went off somewhere. My parking assist was diabled since pulling the ski, and his truck sits so high, didnt even see the damn door, it was hidden by the corner of the jeep. I seriously almost cried. His truck door bent backward, we had to hammer part of it down just to close the door. I felt like sh!t for hitting his truck, its just as nice as my jeep, and felt even worse for putting a big a$$ dent in my ride. not really an accident i guess, but it's the first i've ever had. i'm still pissed off today and frustrated as hell.

well stopped at a body shop on the way home yesterdsy. Buddy of mine works there. Quick "eye" quote from the owner was $4500.... OUCH! Here are some numbers i found for parts. Rear qtr panel aftermarket, $900, rear bumper, primed $400,or painted and clear coated $900. so over $2000 for paint and labor. Bumper i could do myself. Its only a few screws and clips. But the rear qtr panel is welded in. My issue is, i want the paint to match. New paint vs paint that is 5 years old will never match. Wonder if ins will cover a full paint job!?

Ahh man that sucks! I know how you feel bro, one monday morning I got to the yard and parked my 07 sti in front of my big truck, got out started the truck and jumped back in the car to pull away and park it behind my truck. Well my phone rang as I got back in my car and my boss/dad asked me to check something at the back of the truck so I did. Without thinking I jumped into my truck after checking the back and started to drive away and bang! Smoked the sti it was a rough morning, but bought my srt a week later and it cured the pain lol. As for going through insurance, I didn't. My age would have killed me with a 4000$ insurance fix so I just paid for it myself. All the best bro cheer up it's only a dent :p

Most good shops can match any paint. They have a system to match the fade.

That is pain on so many levels! Sorry about your accident. Doesn't it always sting that much more if it's your fault?
