I'm guessing (and seriously hoping) that he's only talking about a launch. Even so, a Libby CRD would need a real good juicing to hold even with an SRT Jeep launch.

who knows who hit the gas a split second before the other... but if they had the boost built up we both know it can get the jump... at least till the SRT hits about 4,000rpms

i know it is a little different motor but it is also more weight... but read THREE OH's sig... i bet the first 40ft of his 60 he would be ahead of a 12.8-13.3 srt...

Some online research turned up two mag. tests for 0-60: 9.5 & 10.1.

Unless maybe the owner has narcolepsy & feel asleep at the light.

Mostly likely its someone who was talking crap until the light turned green & he got embarrassed in front of his girl.

not saying it isnt some idiot... but dont believe stock "tests"... once again... read three oh's sig and he has a heavier truck (.3L bigger motor also)... the thing about CRD's if you can crank the boost you can get some launches because you can pre-boost them...

am im fairly certian that his 3.0 grand cher can get the "jump" on any stock SRT, but it loses it very quickly

Happens again at 55mph from my best recollection. ;)

You guys gotta remember, the diesels have high torque output at stock fuel/boost levels and GOBS of it when wicked up.

The Libby CRD started with 195hp and 295tq and weighs about 4,200lbs. I'm assuming 5,000lbs for the SRT.

Jeep SRT-8 (lbs per hp & tq): 11.76 & 11.76
Libby CRD (lbs per hp & tq): 21.54 & 14.24


With a basic fuel box (stock boost) those figures could easily hit 245hp/360tq so yeah, it's possible.

Jeep SRT-8: 11.76 & 11.76
Libby CRD: 17.14 & 11.67

This is notwithstanding gear ratios and tire height (though I think the Libby is a 3.73 rear). So whether its a troll post or not, if a stock SRT-8 is sleeping at the light the Libby can get a jump albeit a very short-lived one.

Edit: Forgot to add, they can run in 2wd mode as well.
