Yeah...Finally I get up to a red light with a TBSS....Only thing, Ive got a 80lb subwoofer enclosure in the rear that I was driving back from the place I go to test things before they are hooked up in the car..

Anyways the sub is not bolted down and I know that if I floor it I will have a sliding sub nightmare.....I cant help it though...

I dont floor it for a sec or two after I start rolling....he starts off slightly ahead of me....

NOW!!! I floor it and pass by him really fast.....J@ckAzz wont race me.....

I continued to floor it home....Maybe next time...

The good thing, He just bought it and lives down the street from me....

Im gonna show him one day, Shoulda bought an SRT8.

Until that day, Im gonna taunt him every time I see him...Maybe he is just breaking it in?

The only TBSS I've seen around here has some young (18-22) girl driving it.

I always see them when I am pulling my trailer in the wife's car. I always think to myself, if I were driving what was in the garage.................

Guy at my work owns one. He knows the GC is much quicker. He's driven mine, and says it's a BEAST!

That, directly from a TBSS owner's mouth.

Yeah you guys should have no prob taking a TBSS. I have NEVER seen one. In fact I havnt even seen an STR8 here in SD. I THINK I saw one... but it didnt have the rear twin pipes in the center... Thats like the STR8's finger print right?

Yep, the SRT8 would have the center tailpipes in the bumper. There are quite a few guys now that have the SRT8 front end on the regular jeeps. Look up scottina, his is a good example.

So rocks are you looking to get an SRT8, or just hanging out? 118 posts this month...wow.

I could of swarn it was one because it had the wheels and flares and all.... some chick was driving it... black one, it was nice.

No plans on getting the STR8. Just hanging out.... I like these SUVs though.. I feel we have a lot in common and there's a good group here. Glad to share my experiences with a modded 4x4 drivetrain as well.

I haven't seen too many TBSS by me either and as someone already said they're usually going the other way. I do have one pretty cool experience with one of these so I'll share it now. About a month or so ago I'm heading down US Highway 30 with the family when I see a black TBSS going the other way as usual. I tell my wife "Hey that was a Trailblazer SS!" She looks at me with a confused sort of so what look on her face. A couple minutes go by and I see a black TBSS coming up fast behind me. Next thing I know he's right next to me with a big grin on his face giving me the thumbs up. I'm thinking did this guy just chase me down? So I nod and give him the mutual respect back because I like his ride as well. Then he points ahead like lets go! So of course I honnored his request. We were somewhere between 50 and 60 when we punched it. Surprisingly he hung with me for a while before I started to pull on him then we shut down. He caught up to me again with with a thumbs up and then turned around and went the other way. Now you'd think this was the end of the story but it gets better. About two weeks ago I came home from work for lunch. When I was leaving I noticed a couple guys in my driveway checking out my Jeep. So I go out to say hello and discover it's one of the guys running a landscape crew at my neighbors house. So this guy starts going on and on about my Jeep to his freind telling him all the specs so I assume he has one. So I ask him what year SRT he has and he says no I don't have one I have a TBSS. I say well that's cool I haven't seen many around here do you have any mods and he says he's running with a suppergharger. I'm like sweet man we gotta race! I then told him about my only experience with a TBSS and he say's "Dude that was me! I did a u-turn across the median and did 110 to catch up to you!" This guy, like us, has been dying to race a GCSRT8 since he did his mods. I was the first one he found and I beat him. :D He was a really cool dude and a big fan of our SRT8's. We exchanged numbers and we're planing on taking our families down to the track one night this summer. He said he's been playing with the boost and wants to see how close he can run with my stock SRT. Problem is since I met him I've done my T-stat and a drop in K&N with snorkel mod. Well I'm still kind of stock. ;) It should be a lot of fun either way. Sorry for the long post but I thought it was a pretty cool story.

He didn't run you because he probably knew exactly what you have and how badly it would have turned out for him.

I very rarely see TBSS's also. Even more rarely seen are GCSRT8's. In fact, over the last year and a half, I have been from Louisiana to Cali and back and all over the east coast. I have only seen one SRT. That was last year in Jersey a month after I bought my TBSS.

 Yes... I am one of those SS guys... For now. I will be getting a SRT within 6 months or so if all goes to plan.

I would have gotten the SRT to begin with. But at the time, I had to have a SUV immediately and there were no GC's anywhere to be found. Plus, at the time, GM was doing their give-away thing with rebates and I got a pretty decent deal on the SS.

I always see them on the end of a tow truck. Go figure...
Probably a Dodge tow-truck that needed a push. :D

I do have one SRT8 story I can share with the class. A Charger caught me at a red light a few months ago and threw a rev my way. I knew what it was and figured it would turn out bad. But I hoped my AWD would help on the launch a little. I was wrong. Good lord, that thing brutalized me. It was vicious. I chased the guy for a while and we finally stopped at a gas station. We looked over each-others vehicles for a bit and talked for a while. He was a cool guy with a sweet car. He had a few mods such as a CAI and cat-back. More than enough to handle my lowly SUV easily. But it was fun giving it a go even though I knew I was going to be on the receiving end of a beat-down. :D

Now that's what I'm talking about! :) Great story! Nothing wrong with lossing to a faster car. I can't stand some of these guys on the road that take everything all personal when they lose. We're all speed enthusiests or we wouldn't be buying these vehicles. Do some of those killer mods the SS has available and run him again, should be fun. Thanks for sharing the story and the love.

I met a really cool TBSS owner yesterday. While driving home from the gym, we noticed eachother and he pulled up behind me. We exchanged thumbs up and admired eachothers rides. Nice guy!!

I used to own a TBSS, it was a cool car. But yes the SRT8 is much faster. Thats why i traded that junk in!! :D And the ride/comfort is so much better in the srt8. And the TB shifts so hard I felt like the trans was gonna fall out of the bottom of it. And they replaced the trans once for me already b/c it broke and wouldnt shift anymore.
