Well she pulls in today with a 300C SRT8!?!??!

Are her parents TRYING to kill her? They bought it for her last night.

She admitted that when she wrecked the Charger, she was speeding too. I'm at a loss for words....

Mango,

Holy snikes! I missed the post where you told us she wrecked, but I called it (along with a bunch of other people) in that original post when you told us about her.

Now a 300 SRT?!

WTF, over? Sounds like her parents are trying to kill her. My oldest daughter isn't quite driving age and has a ways to go, but when it comes time it's not going to be an SRT.

The term "more money than brains" keeps showing up in these posts. No kidding. Just because you can afford to do it doesn't mean it's a good idea. Plenty of safe, reliable and "cute" (important for girlz!) alternatives out there.

Seriously, I'm not looking forward to your next post about her...

Later,

Matty

Well any new predictions about the new 300? Seems like we jinxed her last time.

DITTO......Maybe we did jinx her but we mostly all agreed that there was something wrong with that Picture....

The parents should be led out to pasture and well, you know the rest.

We could start a betting pool to see when she wrecks it :)

With a 2 month old baby at home I definitely learned something from this site and these threads by Mango. On another thread, someone posted something about getting 10hp for every year you have been alive...that isn't too far off. I guess I'm cheating a bit being 29. :)

I suggested the ratio and then did a rethink that after 21 all bets were off. At that point you reap what you sow. Many of us on the original Mango thread predicted an unpleasant outcome for the Charger, if not the driver and sure enough .... and now to hear she's rolling in yet another high powered ride ... I'd surround my kid with acceptable horsepower (too little is dangerous too) and all the safety features I could afford.

Nothing like Daddy's oil money!
When I attended the University of Arkansas all the sorority girls had new cars, and one that I will always remember is the Mercedes SL500 with the lisence plate "PJ is OK"

PJ is what?

Peanut butter and Jelly
Petro jelly (used that as a teenager)

Hey Mango,
Seriously, if you get a chance... try and tell her parents to let her take the SRT EXPERIENCE. It could only help her and maybe teach her that these things are not toys.
Damn....I'm good!

Hmm, while the 300 SRT8 is nice... I would have rather had the Charger SRT8.

Talk about spoiled. This girl will be impossible as an adult. I have met many women who can't tolerate any discomfort, or where they will go, how will it be done, etc. if they aren't catered to 150%. It's official, Dad is ruining her for all mankind (womankind may put up with her though - and I'm sure, as most of you guys are, that we could put up with her for one night).

But, why should I care? I just don't want her anywhere north or east of New York City in that thing. I got $50 that says she doesn't get to July 30 without a dent. And yes, she should have stayed with a Charger, or got the GCSRT. It's seems she didn't fall too far from the tree.

The parents went with the bigger car theory on this one cause they think it's safer. If this one wrecks, next is the Jeep SRT8 (this is the SUV is safer theory).

Lots of great suggesstions here guys! Here at the school, we have this amazing thing called "Powerschool" where you can lookup our students contact info. Based on her history, I'm going to email the parents about the SRT Track Experience, and let them know that I also have an SRT vehicle. Since I also teach drivers education, this is not out of my boundaries as a teacher.

See, we have to be VERY.....and I mean VERY careful about how we interact with the students. It's sad, even though I truly care about her well being and the well being of others around her when behind the wheel....I have to watch every word I say and in what context I'm saying it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this is completely rediculous.

Sounds like a plan Mango, your kinda between a rock and a had place here but your reasoning rings true and you shouldn't be over stepping....

A little professional instruction could go a long way in this case, and may just help avoid a tragedy in the future.

IMHO

Think her parental units have got a CLUE ? DUH!!!! :(

Maybe they could use some of that money to BUY a clue.

What's next, buy her a JGC so she has a higher center of gravity/better chance of rolling it.

I'm a fan of letting kids earn what they have, so they understand how the world works when they are on their own.

Rant over

The 300 and Charger are identical cars, both based on the LX platform (along with the Magnum) just different sheet metal...

Can't image what the parents drive...

Well, my dad has a 300C (Hemi) and I love it and all, but this SRT8 Charger gives me wood every time I see it.
