Ok guys some great news here Milous has just informed us that the new MyGIG navigation unit may fit our rides, which is great news I have been waiting for this to come out for a year now!

WOW this is GREAT NEWS!! I hope it retains it's touch screen functionality too.

On a side note:

I ordered a VW Navigation head unit for my GTI yesterday, I'll be installing it tomorrow. :) At first it was believe that the Mk5 headunits were tied to the cars, but people found a way around the security keys. hehehhe I got it for a FRACTION of the cost if I bought it new with the car.

There is only 1 canbus network, the MyGIG runs on the canbus network, there is only 1.

EDIT: The reason he has yet to hear about it, for the Jeep that is, is because it is still not available for the Jeep. Will be in the new 08s. However, the MyGig unit is already available in the Wrangler and the Chrysler Sebring, so he should have heard of it, and this is why he is an idiot.

So, is there a way to the MyGig to work in the GCSRT8? Anyone have a wiring diagram yet?

Milous just informed us thru the other site that a adapter will be needed for the UConnect to work and an adapter from the head unit to the existing satellite antenna will be required also. He is doing the install friday so we will know more and if it will work with the read entertainment system.

I cant wait for this upgrade!!! The navigation system alone is worth it, and it plays DVD's too, great news!!!

The MyGIG kit is going to come with all the necessary adapters to convert your 2006 to tey MyGIG.

AND, hopefully when the '08 comes out, the faceplate "may" just snap right in for a factory look. He will also be working on the factory back-up camera integration, as well.

bump, so there is a mygig "kit" did it ever get made, is it still made? Where can you get one, how much, any pics, i need buncha info lol, im def interested for down the road a few months ;)
