Well guys i was wondering if it will ever be possible for a Jeep SRT8 to get in to a 1/4 with less than 11sec and what do u think the proper mods for that to happen? in my opinion it will never happen . But incase it will there should be something like this under our hood! with 2 NOS cylinders xD

Very easy. It will happen for sure. Built motor and a shot of nitrous will do it. Or even a Supercharged Jeep with the right tune. The real questions is who and when!

Its already been done, headers, heads, cam and a 100 shot Mark ran 11.80 this past weekend.

I think a more appropriate question is when will one of these JGC SRT8's be in the 10's!!!!!!

Almost anything is possible (more specifically 10s). But IMO it can only be done with a REAL TUNE, not this piggyback bull**** that is coming out.

I agree with a real tuner you may not need to go to the extremes on all these mods.

Time will tell.

426, supercharger, heads, cams, full exhaust,p&p intake manifold are my plans when i get my Jeep in the low 11s.

Not the only thing, big boost and Alcohol or Nitromethane will do the job too.

If I don't blow this thing up I should be close. Builder for sure will be if he can find traction.

And as far as the piggyback, they work well. I used them on my diesel with no problems and incredible gains. I believe the ASM is using the UNICHIP that is preprogrammed for the S/C. Should work perfect untill a laptop dyno tune is available.

Headers, heads and cam brings you to the 12.2 range. With a tune Ide say your in the 11's on motor alone.

Maybe not during my summer here, but during the cooler times I for sure will be in the 11's with NO laughing gas!! I might up the PSI and run alcohol. But High 10 to mid 11's are very achievable, if the driveline does not explode!!!

BuilderBill will be on the 10s soon. My buddy with the supercharged 408 ZJ is making around 550 to the wheels and ran a 10.80.

Yeah power adders that you ALWAYS have when you nail the gas is fine. Like meth injection passes because its always there. But laughing gas... naa, anybody can make a car fast on gas.... I have noz in my sig but I don't know if ill ever really do it.

Well said.

I could have easily saved over 10k and just added NOS but i want the power all the time. I didn't want to refill, turn on, hope the bottle always had pressure etc....

I have only been to the track twice but managed a 13.2@102 w/ 1.8 60'.

Yeah Quadradrive....full time AWD. What about you? Have you been to the track or had your explorer dynoed?

Yeah Control-Trac.... part time 4x4.

I have 4x4 low, 4x4 high (off road, locks my diffs) and 4x4 Auto for the street. Its really always in 2wd in Auto. The computer reads your intension's of your driving style and goes 4x4 when needed. If I punch it, it transfers torque to the front before wheel spin even starts. If my rear starts to lose traction it also sends torque to the front. It can send up to 100% of the torque up front. I'm exempt from "traction control" so my brakes never apply.... it just goes. Its really cool even in the mud I cant really get my tires to spin from a dig. I also did whats called a "brown wire mod", by adding a relay I interrupted the silinoid that activates my transfer case via a toggle switch. So I can pick all time 2wd if I choose. This system only came available in the 2002 model. Then later went full time awd.

I built all this while I was living in Cancun. Had everything imported from the US. No dynos available there. I did all the tuning via laptop. Well I would data log, send file to tuner and he would send me new files to reflash my computer. So I have no idea what power I have at the wheels.

Turns out im out of fuel injectors, they max out... I have 30lbs now. So my tuner totally detuned me from timing to protect me, and im purposely driving with a very slipping belt to lower my boost level to get my A/F to a safe zone. I'm pushing about 4spi while pullied for 9psi right now. I'm just waiting for my new fuel injectors and my electric water pump and ill be tuning some real numbers. I have laying in my garage: 3,000 stall converter, bigger dampener (reason why I have to go electric water pump), smaller blower pulley, 8-rib conversion, and new hoses and fittings so I can spray my meth/water AFTER my blower to really get my air charge temps down. I will then be pullied for about 14psi and I will also tune for the meth. I plan on getting this done in the next 1.5 months or so, by the time I get it dyno'd, tuned etc.

How I sit NOW all detuned slipping belt etc I cut a 9.015 1/8 and 2.083 60ft. Once I get my injectors and install all the above and tune right etc im shooting for low 12's, or about a 7.8 1/8th.

My big dampener, 60lbs injectors, 8-rib conversion, everything im putting on now is designed for my next Whipple 2.3L SC. I'm laying down the foundation now. Ill pulley for about 20psi then. But on a twin screw as apposed to this little roots blower I have now. Shooting for about 600rwhp with my next SC. Once I get spoiled with that ill prob go for some TT's.

So even though I don't have an STR8, this is kinda fun to be going in the same direction as the STR's in the race to break 11's and 10's.

As far as another 3rd Gen Explorer at my level. There is only one other in the world (unless someone else is keeping a dam good secret). There's a guy that goes by the KBX who just built a STOUT billet short block with a KB 2.2, he swapped out our IRS for a solid and even went with a different tranny (4r70w). And he bought the factory 2wd Explorer.

But me and KBX are at the top of our game right now.

So all this being said, that's really why you see me chiming in here a lot. I have a very unique build and as far as I know the only one doing this to an 4x4 3rd gen Explorer.... and these new STR8's are right up my alley :)

Yeah I think I have seen a video of that KB explorer. He ran in the 13's against a GTO.

Yep thats him.

That was on his 100% stock long block at only 6psi and 360rwhp. Detuned so not to push the weak factory inherited hyperetic pistons.

He ran a 13.7 and cut a 1.9 60' while feathering the throttle of the line, no traction.

He's now in the finishing stages of his tuning with all the new gear. Will be interesting to see what he does. His immediate goal is to get about 600+rwhp at about 20psi.

Thats what I say!
With the fully programmable electronics that are being developed for my supercharged 426, looking at low 11's with the 9" Ford posi unit to help with traction.

10's are possible. I know of a SRT Mag that has had 10g's motor work ,plus a supercharger and runs 10.8 with a 1.4 60'

10's will happen. I think BuilderBill will be there first. And if he doesnt, we need to talk him into nitrous, so he does. There is nothing wrong w/ nitrous. You guys are right, the refilling thing sucks, but it is a relativly safe, reliable source of power.(When done right).

10's may be a bit scarey in a JGC!!!
That is moving pretty quickly.
I have thought about the juice...lets see what happens someday when the electronics are completed and the combination installed.

10's will feel much better in a SRT8 Jeep as apposed to the the 5.9 Limited.. They have hit the 10's.
