I am really thinking about installing the spacer.......or having it installed
by a friend at his garage.

It would help tremendously with heat soak.

I am just wondering how involved it is, and does the kit come with eveything?

This is a pretty easy install. I just did mine this weekend with the help and knowledge of Cmn1 and it was not that hard. I would say if you have the tools about 1 or 2 hours depending on your skills.

45 minutes to 1 hour tops.

Have an in x Ib torque wrench for proper bolt tq.

It should come with everything, 2 spacers, 2 gaskets, 4 plastic tabs, 10 bolts and washers. I have done 2 of these and it really is easy, especially if you do it when your engine is cold. Like Tony mentioned time wise on a cold engine, little longer on a hot one. Wear gloves.
