sor tghos of you who dont use ur rig everyday do you use a battery tender?? i am thinking of getting one since my rig is not a daily driver and i will not be driving it for the next few weeks untill the temps drop. and in therwe inter i deff wont drive it allot when there is snow around. what do you guys think of getting one of these to keep the battery fresh??

joe, i used to ride harleys and had a battery tender on every one of them.
my wk is only used part time so i put one on it. I love it.
i got some pics of the plug.....poking thru my SRT8 grill.

the plug has a plastic cap. i put them each thru a side by side spce in the grill and then put the cap on so I can grab it next time. i ran the wires from the battery to the fender then forward. then behind the headlight and out the grille. presto.

so its always connected on ur battery side? and wich tender did u get exactly?
I have one on my cobra. My car is 14 years old and only on third battery. I should say I actually have a charger. It's automatic when it sees the volts go down it turns itself back on. My last battery lasted 8 years.

Battery Tenders are great.
Get the 2 Amp if you expect it to slowly bring up the charge on a partly discharged battery.
Get the smaller on (3/4 Amp I think) if you just want to maintain a charged battery.
I have 3 battery tenders and use them on everything.
I keep one on the Challenger in the winter and move the others around on the tractor, Amphicat, etc

i snaked the wire around the battery and then snaked it thry to the grille area. a few ty-wraps here and there and PRESTO!

so im not sure wich one to get. my truck is a 2010. i got it in january or feb. should i just get the 3 amp so i have it. that wont hurt right?

If it is a Battery Tender, no the larger one will not hurt anything.
I have not measured the resting battery drain on the Jeep but on the Challenger it was only 30 mA so the 750 mA unit is plenty to maintain the battery if the car is just parked.
If you often get in and out of the vehicle or play the radio etc while it is parked, get the higher amp unit.

Yuasa is good too. I'm a member of Honda motorcycle club and years ago you could get the big charger for $18! I bought two and use one all the time for my motorcycle. The chargers test the battery before it tries to charge. Caught a bad battery on a friend's boat.

I'm using 0.5 amp solar charger which is connected to aux socket.
To compensate amperage I put in on the plastic sun shield just under the tinted sunroof glass. Thus it gives less output (say 15 volt vs 20 volts without load)
