Anyone that has modded their intake with the brake duct air scoop trick, did you seal off the intake box in the front, or are you leaving both open? I'm looking for opinions here....

Question two:

For anyone that has a Fan switch; how/when are you switching the fans on at the track? Do you leave the fans on for the whole run, or are you turning them off after stagging? I think they go off at WOT anyways, but I was just curious what everyone was doing here...

Thanks

At the track I pull the low speed fan relay and that turns on the high speed fan until you replace the relay and clear the CEL. Must be cleared with a scanner, dashhawk etc.

Fast has a good cheap $ fan bypass mod, check his sig.

Rain. I left the front OPEN. It would be an interesting back to back comparison to see if the front is doing anything with the brake scoop mod. I DID remove my brake scoop for 15 runs and lost 1 tenth and 1mph. After those passes. I hooked it back up and gained the 1 tenth and 1mph back.

Thanks My guys that put probably 100 passes on the Hemi that day left the high speed fan on all day even down the strip. I put about 10 runs on that day and had the lowest ET morning and afternoon....the only difference was I turned the fan off after staging...worth maybe a hundredth or two.

Thanks Inferno. I already have a fan switch. Guess I should have asked that one in a different way. (ie what temp should the fans be turned on...you want some heat in the engine...) Thanks for the relay trick. I'm assuming the fans stop running after you clear the cel? Or maybe after you cycle the power...

Either way, neat trick.

Good info, thanks Bill. I'm wondering if you sealed the box in the front if that would help any.... guess I'll have to play around to find out...

The fan (1) goes back to the PCM control after the relay is reinstalled and the CEL is cleared, its a great little trick for the track.
