robpp 07-27-2010, 06:15 PM WAX = P21S Carnuba
Leather = LEXOL
Tires = Zaino
Rear Step = Back to Black
Wheels = WAX as they are clear coat POLISHED NOT CHROME - I WOULD DITCH THT I THINK IT HAS ABRASIVES.. NOT ZGOOD WITH CLEAR COAT. I also used POORBOY's World Wheel Sealant FTMFW on top of my wax.
Windows = Invisible Glass ( at least 3 coats)
there is a liot more esp for the paint.
nyjoed 07-27-2010, 06:26 PM dave uknow the wheels arnt chrome right?
DaveRoss83 07-27-2010, 06:36 PM Yeah i know....but i love the look after i use that product.....
My wheels look as good as the day i got the jeep...haven't had any problems using this......
Maybe i'll switch to something else....just haven't found anything that looks as nice....
robpp 07-27-2010, 08:22 PM i didnt mean to come off like a jerk up there but truly be careful with the wheels.
depending on MY, the last few runs are the durabrite finish so I would suggest looking online to alcoa for how to care for them without scratching.
but anything without the DB stamp, they are polished with a clear. so you just may want to be a bit more gentle on that clear is all I was trying to say :lol:
chrome polish typically has abrasives and would wear thru the clear much faster than just a wax. the best deal is to have to clean them less. or at least maybe just a damp wipe rather than a full blown clean. Thats where a sealant might be the answer. I mentioned the one I used up there. i did one coat of wax then 3 coats of sealant. I CANNOT LEAZE A FINGERPRINT on the wheels. And my wheels are Black CHrome Powder Coating with a clear powder coat on top. its as soft as cake icing :lol: so i needed to seal it up good.
there are a few good sealants for paint too. most are wipe on, walk away. but they leave like a hard shell. of course they are almost the final step of the detailing.
DaveRoss83 07-27-2010, 09:08 PM Hey no worries man....I didn't take any offense to it....I understand you were just looking out for my best interest. This "family" is all about helping each other out. I actually called around a few places to get the facts and they said it does have some abrasives but next to nothing and certainly not enough to harm the clear coat or the wheels. (whew)......But i think i will switch it up just to be even more on the safe side.....
jntdysf 07-27-2010, 10:59 PM Thanks Dave.
I've been using this stuff on waking up the rubber-plalstic components in the engine bayhttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/mag-glass_10x10.gif (http://www.cherokeesrt8.com/forums/showthread.php?p=614845#). Nice sheen left. Not too greasy. Easy to use.

Nice...I may check that out too...I love the armor all but its almost impossible to get every spot out of the engine bay so you will see a streak or spot here and there.....

Rambit 07-28-2010, 12:19 PM ^^ Hah! Another Adams fan. About the only product I don't care for is their tire dressing. Not saying it's not good stuff, but I prefer McGuires Gold Class Endurance. The stuff lasts for weeks and doesn't sling. I'm just not a big fan of the no gloss water based stuff.
Another great Adams detail product is their In & Out Spray for greyed rubber and plastic. Does an excellent job under the hood and is dry to the touch. Very similar to VTR, but this comes in aerosol cans. No problem spraying on paint for hard to get at areas, it just wipes off with detail spray.

I love Adams products.. They are honestly the best products I've used. They are a little pricey, but well worth it! I've been looking at that in&out detail spray. I'll pick some up on my way home and try it out.. Thanks for the heads up Bernie!
Rambit 07-28-2010, 12:53 PM Yeah, I think I own everything they make. I buy a lot of their stuff by the gallon.
